Hello,

If a school is already tagged as an area, you do not have to (and should not) repeat the name on the main school building. That just creates a duplicate and ruins the map. (And if you make a typo like here, it cannot be automatically detected.)

Thanks for adding shops.

You might be interested to know that OpenStreetMap is a collaborative map and that it already has lots of information about places.

It looks like you have been wanting to *add* as many places as possible without looking at existing data. As a consequence, we spotted a high number of duplicate entries. The map looks really weird now.

* You created a post office here: node/10621838951 but the post office was already on the map: way/244506788

* You added a pharmacy (node/10621841443) whereas it was already there: node/3490636899

* This café named Faubourg Saint-Denis (node/10621830408) looks very much like this one: node/6699391691

* Same for L’Abbaye (node/10621837851) added 3.6 meters away from another pub with the same name: node/6699391786

In most of those cases, if there was a problem with the name or the category, the best option is to start from the existing object and update its tags.

Please review your changes, delete your newly created nodes and update information on the old nodes. There may be more nodes than in the examples here.

Have a nice day.

Interesting page, thanks for the efforts on this topic.

Hello,

We had to revert your changeset.
I understand this is one of your first contributions and it may take a little time to learn. But please try to be extremely careful because small mistakes like this can create a real mess.

Here is what you did:
* You claimed in "Cycle both ways" in the changeset title, yet you changed Rue Rogier/Rogierstraat to make quite the opposite. It was perfectly tagged as a one-way street with exceptions for cyclists… and you removed the exception, forcing cyclists strictly into the one-way.
* You changed the geometry of one intersection. I guess it must be a mistake, if you pressed several buttons or wanted to test features. Routing was completely broken in this area, that is how we found out.

One word about one-way streets, since you seem to care about cycling.
* If a street is open in both directions for everyone, we do not tag anything special.
* If it is oneway (at least for cars), we add oneway=yes.
* If there is an exception for cyclists, we add oneway:bicycle=no. This tag invalidates the previous oneway=yes tags, so that cycle routers will know they may use the street in any direction. The rendering on CyclOSM and the Cycle Layer is also different
* In Flanders, oneway:mofa=no is common (M3 sign, i.e. bicycle AND small class "A" motorcycle)
* In Brussels, there are lots of different exemptions, suchs as buses, taxis and more. Unless you gain enough experience, I recommend you not to touch this anymore.

Have a nice day.

Hello,

Good changeset comments are always appreciated.

You did not really "fix" anything here. I mean, there was no mistake that needed a fix.

What I see is that you added an (informal) Italian translation for a street, instead.

Have a nice day.

### BAD CHANGESET ###
Your changeset has been reverted.
There are two types of containers here:
* One run by Bruxelles-Propreté/Net Brussel accepts glass bottles
* One run by Oliobox accepts cooking oil.

Those were mapped as two separate objects for one good reason: they are run by different operators.

Your both changesets today (132229447 and 132214066) were incorrect because you added the "glass" recycling property to Oliobox and the "cooking oil" property to the other, creating a mess.

We had to undo your change.

Your edit has been reverted. "K" already set as the name of this building, it should not be given a fake "K" address.

Hello,

When passing by, I didn’t see a "rack" for 15 bicycles here.

There are 4 U-stands, i.e. capacity=8 and it is already on the map.

Was this a test edit?

Hello,

I wanted to warn you that some of your recent edits are quite damaging to the map. I am certain you act with the best intentions but you created a high number of orphan footways, which we have to rework after you. Also, moving shapes of parks, buildings or other places away from their real location—it looks like you are using a mobile app with… Bing imagery—is flagging a lot of warnings here; I have already spent a lot of time cleaning up after your edits and I see some more damage today.

Perhaps it has to do with Go Map, which hides real data being changed. I felt I had to let you know.

Hello,

"Wesembeek-Ophem" is the former French name, no-one uses it anymore and the municipality itself calls itself "Wezembeek-Oppem" in every language.

It does: the URL has changed but the place is still operating.

Thanks. Yes, another problem with that app, indeed.

Hello,

Could you please explain why the change for Paul bakery?

Previously we had:
Mo-Fr 07:30-18:00; Sa,Su,PH off

Now we have:
Mo-Fr 07:30-18:00

There is less information, we used to have a situation where the shop was certain to be closed during the weekend and holidays, now it is labelled as uncertain.

Anything special here? What did you see?

Fixed by changesets 132071747 and 132071813.

Your changeset has been reverted.
The sidewalk here is definitely not made of asphalt but paving stones.

Please be respectful of other mappers and do not put fancy data in OSM.

Hello,

Sorry but there does not seem to be "traffic islands" in the middle of crossings here.

Your edit has been reverted.

Fixed in version #6: your opening hours text string was not correct.

Also, a more useful changeset title is always appreciated, do not just say "Coolblue Brussels" and hope that people will guess or investigate.

Have a nice day.

The other edits, such as filling additional wikidata links to brands (car-sharing, post offices, banks) seem correct.

131890577 almost 3 years ago

Hello,

Sorry but some of those "fixes" are wrong. I guess you found a tool that encouraged you to fix/simplify the shape of buildings in Brussels, and by doing this you created shapes that do not match the official outlines of buildings.

In addition, please keep your changes local and upload them before moving on to another city or country.

The huge bounding box is because, in addition to changes in Belarus, the user added a crossing with traffic signals in the middle of a forest in France.
