The Mucky Pup

Am I misusing the site or is http://cycle.travel/map England-only? :-( I dislike this: you click a link, navigate through a site… only to find out that it is not servicing your location. This should be mentioned in this blog post and in OSM_on_Paper if it is that way. Thank you, Harry!

Missing attribution in Huffington Post ?

@mcld: not really - in both cases. But I am too lazy to look it up in the license terms now. For a produced work you need to use a license which ensures that OSM is properly credited. Fot this reason releasing a produced work under WTFPL is not possible. You mention yourself that it is contradictory…

Die Stadt Troisdorf ist jetzt mit dabei!

Willkommen!

I have reverted your edits to this node. http://osm.mapki.com/history/node.php?id=1404225073 All fine again now. If you want to improve the map in your region, feel free to ask for help!

OSMAnd

exportation of roads

… I have edited the wiki pages myself now (looking at all pages, and especially osm.wiki/w/index.php?title=QGIS_OSM_Plugin&diff=951200&oldid=923161 )

exportation of roads

@SK53: So with version 2 you do not need the plugin? Could someone please make that more clear on osm.wiki/QGIS#OpenStreetMap_Plugin and the plugin’s page? I did understand that wrong. Are there people intentionally using version 1?!

London Typhoon Haiyan Mapathon

Just a … thank you for the good report with the many links, Harry! Very interesting!

Jerra Trails - MTB single track project

Please keep don’t tag for the renderer in mind. Please choose the type of way which is most appropriate.

Just throwing some related bits in: Did you know our wiki page “mountain biking” and http://openmtbmap.org/ ?

Vandalism in Sydney ?

Now it is visible. You should send your mails not in HTML, by the way.

Vandalism in Sydney ?

The user did reply via mail (despite I asked to comment here). Since I made clear that the question is intended for the public…. here is the reply:

“dont worry, i am updating and redesigning the openstreetmap data. i will update it soon it was in bad condations.”

I wrote back:

“Well, that’s good, but as you see it causes much confusion. You should try to make changes which belong together in one changeset. The streets there are badly broken now since 06. October. They were not broken that much before, were they? Could you please comment at the blog, so the other people also see your response?”

no news since then. However, Creando, if you want to use the mailing list… do so. I will stop here and now.

Creando, I cannot see your mail at the mailing list archive. Sure that you sent?

Vandalism in Sydney ?

you can see recent edits quite good at http://owl.apis.dev.openstreetmap.org/#map=17/-33.87333/151.20418 (click history tab on top) Is that the place you mean? You can find out which edit a shown modification is by clicking on the red lines. The links were deleted in osm.org/browse/changeset/18208802

osm.org/browse/way/234923864 motorway parts (mapped at 24. August 2013) which are only connected to the street network on one side really look wrong… Vandalism or accident. I have written a mail to the relevant user and asked to comment.

Hint: please to not try to restore (or even re-draw) if you are not used to the undeletion/revert tools.

Did you always wonder where this Black Forest is, where all the Germans live?

Great, thanks for the feedback. :-) Regarding the tags: I am not involved in this (except from helping to make a nice file page), so I don’t know if these tags are good to be used. Maybe get in contact with user maxbe!

Just seen an excellent real-time 3D map of Openstreetmap, the F4 map.

Did you know osm.wiki/File:Maxbe-stubaier-beschriftung_en.png which shows place = region , region:type = mountain_area ?

Hi Teva, hmm, well, no. The diary is not really meant as a personal todo list. Rather it is for thing you want to share with the community. Stuff you learned, how you learned, where you found good information, also to document your work, to share your thoughts on OSM topics, … See osm.org/diary linked on the left menu panel.
