Did you always wonder where this Black Forest is, where all the Germans live?
Posted by 715371 on 9 October 2013 in German (Deutsch). Now you are able to find it out via Nominatim.
There was a need to have something to tag highlands and landscapes. So there is now this first draft of a proposal.
osm.wiki/User:Cracklinrain/highlands
I hope there will be discussions about that. If you find some tagging proposals related to this, please let me know!
Cheers!
PS: There are also Teutoburger Wald, Bremer Schweiz, Wesergebirge and Wiehengebirge available with this tagging.

Did you know osm.wiki/File:Maxbe-stubaier-beschriftung_en.png which shows place = region , region:type = mountain_area ?

I did’n know this documentation. Thank you very much! Well, somebody on the tagging list mentioned place=region, but in the proposals the tag seems to be used for other stuff. But maybe I should reconsider!
This is a nice site btw - which is exactly the missing puzzle part in the application of such highlands data!

Great, thanks for the feedback. :-) Regarding the tags: I am not involved in this (except from helping to make a nice file page), so I don’t know if these tags are good to be used. Maybe get in contact with user maxbe!
