I wanted to export all roads in a particular area. After opening the exported OSM using Quantum GIS, i noticed that some roads are not anymore reflected on the map. can anyone tell me what things to do so not to encounter this? i once deleted that road, exported to OSM and open to Quantum GIS. Still it doesnt appear but there are points that are somehow i made in creating that road.

You don’t say which version of QGis you are using. However, it sounds very much like a known bug with the OSM plugin in versions 1.x.
This living does not handle 64-bit identifiers properly. Current versions of QGis (2.x) use a different method for accessing OSM data. Or you could get a shapefile from Geofabrik or bbbike websites.
For more on the problems with the QGis plying search the OSM help site.

@SK53: So with version 2 you do not need the plugin? Could someone please make that more clear on osm.wiki/QGIS#OpenStreetMap_Plugin and the plugin’s page? I did understand that wrong. Are there people intentionally using version 1?!

… I have edited the wiki pages myself now (looking at all pages, and especially osm.wiki/w/index.php?title=QGIS_OSM_Plugin&diff=951200&oldid=923161 )
