| Just mapping along | It is a BeNeLux only map, but here you can see the cycle routes in the whole osm world. This is a detail of Germany: http://www.opencyclemap.org/?zoom=11&lat=51.54682&lon=7.34298&layers=B000 |

| Just the stuff I did last week | Installed Gosmore! It works on the HP 4700HX! I yet have to do some tracking with it, but that'll happen the coming weekend. |
|
| Just the stuff I did last week | Thanks for the suggestions guys! But this is about the faulty multipolygon: I deleted it yesterday evening completely and started again, but slowly. Only the outer way and one inner way and it showed up correctly this morning. So this is the motivation to build it up slowly again. |

| Testing Outdoor-gps | To be honoust there is another possibility here: both rtept and wpt were absent in the gpx-file, therefor maybe that particalar tag is just not used in my test, but also a hiking trail I traced was, unedited, exepted by osm, so Outdoor GPS looks like an okay tool to me, if it wasn't for the fact that you cannot mark places with poi's. That drawback is so big, that I might just revert to osm-tracker and exept the fact the map shows no trace on the screen. |

| Multipolygon finally | Yep, Osmarender is doing the multipolygons now too. I'm now experimenting with th direction of the inner polygons. @Skywave; the direction of the inner ones in Mapnik doesn't seem to effect anything, they both show. It looks like the more complicated objects take a bit longer to render then the smaller ones. Anyhow, the area I'm working on is starting to look better and better in both engines, so progress is made nevertheless! When this part is finished I will progress to the surrounding area's. |

| Multipolygon finally | Well, I can tell osmarender is finally updated too, because a lot of my edits are showing now, but... not so my multipolygons! It's like trying to get a website to display correctly on two different browsers. Can't we just pick one rendering engine map and discard the rest? That'll simplify things. Well for now: if anyone knows how to get it right on osmarender, please do tell! |

| Navigating on OSM | Higgy, you're right. I noticed now too that it doesn't perform 100%. |
|
| Navigating on OSM | @Higgy, I had a look at your Shrewsbury bike ride and the way I see it is that: from the point you started there is no road that allows for bikes. Everything connects tot the A458 (highway=trunk) so the navigator is starting from the first road that allows for bikes and connects to your destination. |

| Multipolygons | Instant preview: as it turns out it already exists! Kosmos it's called and it's actually in the wiki. Make your changes: start Kosmos, get the map in your viewport, get OSM data, a few clicks more and presto! Now if it shows the same stuff as Mapnik is going to next wednesday, I'm happy. |

| First trace attempt Schaep en Burgh | I made trace #2 in Schaep en Burgh, but the result was really awfull! I walked i.e. a strait line for almost a km, but the trace was viering way off course. I also walked a few segments three times and every time the trace was something completely different. This is not going to work with this dense treecover overhead and sadly but abviously: that's exactly the places where you can't see the paths in the original AND data :-( Without trees it works okay. Only when I have some new GPS machine or when the leaves have fallen, I will try this there again. For now I'm already looking for places in my area that don't have a treecover, but are not yet in the map. Also a pity that OSMtracker doesn't support VGA, that means everything works but the map. The only thing you'll see is the arrow, but no track appears. So, only when I download the trace I'll be able to see it. |

| Multipolygons | Hi! Yeah, I knew about the OSMarender map and it does render faster, but I think more in the line of a day then an hour, by my experience. But Mapnik is, as you said, definitely doing a better job. Still: a button that gives you an instant preview of your work would be a great enhancement. It doesn't have to zoom or pan or anything; just a preview map in the setting that the edit map is in at the time, would do nicely. |

| Starting | Hi CoreyBurger, Thanks for commenting! 1) I found it out, but entered it in a new comment.

| Ankeveen swamp and more. | Thanks for the comments!! I see that the layer stuff did work in OSMarender, but as you said, not in Mapnik. I will start learning about the multipolygon object. |
