Why have you deleted all those driveways?

121487348 over 3 years ago

Why are you deleting those residential landuses?

I had it already deleted when you posted this comment, whats your problem? Couldn't find a bad building in the other still existing buildings, out of 9000, or what?

Thanks for the reminder. I saw it already 6 days ago, thought "gonna do it later" and forgot it, of course.
Fixed now with changeset/121252495.

You added a lot of nonsense ways like way/1060933114

The route is definitly still visible. It is veery easy to guess the former route - I looked at https://osmcha.org/changesets/120909006/ and the location of the old route can be perfectly recognized on the background aerial images, everywhere.
And even if you can't recognize the route somewhere, you should use railway=razed instead of deleting.

Also: By deleting such data you do not improve the data quality at all - you actually make it worse, because OSM-data comsumers like openrailwaymap.org, which render these old routes, become incomplete.

"railway=abandoned" means "A railroad was here once, the tracks were removed, but there are still traces of the railway." For example gravel, embarkments, vegetation changes, property lines etc.
It does NOT mean that there are rusty and overgrown tracks, that would be railway=disused, thats a common misconception.

Because railway=abandoned is correct tagging, i restored it.

From the Texas Railroad Commision website. They are responsible for pipeline regulation in Texas, the data is in public domain. I will also add further detail by mapping wellsites, pipeline sub/compressor stations, valves etc. later.

I'm againest the usage of abandoned:power here (or on lines general) because of the reason in the first section here: abandoned:building=*

I'm currently adding voltage data to substations without it in GA, and just found your substation - one hour within creation :D

Was way/387565270 the already existing building? It has to be tagged with "building=*", otherwise it is technically not tagged as building.

Because it was too imprecise and included many areas that weren't actually commercial.

Knowledge & HIFLD Public domain data. Are there any issues with the data? I will convert the nodes to areas later and add the missing connecting lines.

Looks good, better than no building. Tip: Use the "Q" key to automatically square buildings.

What mistake do you mean?

Uhm - no? The plant is now duplicated, the deletion was intended. I deleted it again.
