Hello,

Waow, I didn’t know that. Did they change the speed limit because of the accident?

In that case, do you know what road signs have been put there? I suppose they removed the C43 roadsigns completely (https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Belgian_road_sign_C43_50.svg) so that traffic should follow the default 30 kph speed limit.

Hence, we should have "source:maxspeed=BE-BRU:urban".

Hello,
Just one thing here: the string " - " (space-hyphen-space) is reserved for multilingual names.
Validators will consider "Athénée royal Gatti de Gamond - Internat" to be a name written in several languages; Osmose and others will complain about missing translations.
I suggest you use another naming convention.
Maybe the building could be named "Internat", while creating a large area with the whole school property. Or use "–" (en dash) as a separator.

Hello,

Could you please explain what you were attempting to do here.

I see you added access=no on a few major roads.
That change implies that _everyone_ is barred from using it, including cars, pedestrians and so on. (way/465680921/history)
I believe this is incorrect.
I am afraid I’ll have to revert it entirely because your changes are breaking ordinary routing for everyone in the north of Brussels.

Did you mean you think those roads should not be advised to cyclists?

Our first responsibility is to map the legal situation. If a cyclist is legally allowed on a road, even if we feel it is a fast road only for the most daring users, then we must allow it.

Thanks in advance for your reply and for sharing more details.

Fine, thanks.

I get your point. In fact, if you create a node inside a building, you do not have to fill the address again. The search function will find it automatically. That saves a lot of time and effort, and helps building a better map.

Hello,
Did you survey the place?
Or did you only change the map based on a news article?
This is important because apparently one part on the area is still open to cars (on the side). What did you see upon visiting the place?

Hello,
Thanks for adding more shops to the map.
I think there might be a little bit of an issue with your last changes.
Sometimes a shop takes the whole building it is part of—like a supermarket or some high street shops—but very often in Brussels there are apartments in the same building.
In the first case, one adds tags on the whole building. In the second, you should instead create a node inside the building and enter the information about the shop on that node.
Happy mapping.

I want to inform you I reverted the changes that fiddled with the house numbers. The bookshop is fine, I left it.

Hello,
Please stop creating "parks" that do not exist.
A tiny patch of grass in the middle of a roundabout takes "landuse=grass", this is not the same thing as a park with a real recreational values.

Hello,
If you want to use StreetComplete, there are a few quests that are useless in countries like Belgium.
For instance, this one, that sets lane_markings=yes/no. Do not waste your time filling this, it just clutters the database for no benefit.

Beste,
Om huizen te tekenen, gebruik liever "AIV Flanders GRB" als background in plaats van luchtbeelden.
De vorm van de huizen die je hebt toegevoegd is verkeerd.

Hello,
Sorry but I had to revert this. You changed the capacity of the 3 small U-racks.
capacity=35 is for the Villo! station, which is already properly mapped.

Hello,
Something you may want to know: if you set access=private, it goes for all transport modes at once. But then, routing engines will look for values under foot, bicycle, motor_vehicle and so on and what goes there will override the default setting of the access tag.
I see access=yes but foot=yes. It means that routers will encourage hikers to use this path.
I think it was not intended, because this really looks like private property. I will remove bad tags.

Hello,

I think there are several problems with your edits on the map.

For instance this node has funny tags and is located several dozens kilometers further.

Hello,
Just one thing:
building=garage for a single-family garage
building=garages for blocks with several cars
;-)

Hello,

Are you sure of the new maxspeeds?

Contrary to popular belief, not 100% of streets in Brussels switched to a 30-kph speed regime in January. There are exceptions.

I spotted the C43 signs with 50-kph myself along Route de Lennik/Lennikse Baan.
For Joseph Wybran, official Brussels data confirmed this street would keep a 50-kph regime.

What is the source of your information?

Hello,
Thanks for this.
Just a question. No accented letters at all in the name. Is this intentional?

Hello,
You may be interested to know that just because iD has presets, not every preset is suitable or correct for every country.
It looks like you clicked on "Marked cycle crossing" in iD. This is more a UK-thing. There is no such thing in Belgium law: when motorists cross a cycle lane with dashed lines, they should yield to cycle traffic in every circumstance, not just on dedicated or "marked" crossings.

Hello,
Just for the record: beware of editing on outdated aerial imagery. The street has been entirely rearranged recently and I was proud to have reflected the new situation (example here: changeset/84561631) but you erased my work and reverted to a previous situation.
Have a nice day.
