Changeset When Comment

Hello,

Thanks for this. Nevertheless, I don’t understand the choice of tags here.

If there are stairs, I suggest tagging them as stairs (highway=steps) in OSM and not as a footway.

Also, forcing "bicycle=no" on a footway makes little sense. Is there really an app that routes cyclists through footways? If that is the case, then it’s a problem with the app. (When a way is tagged as "highway=footway", it is open to pedestrians and forbidden to anyone else.)

Can you please give a bit more details so that we can investigate how to solve this once and for all? Many thanks.

Hello and welcome.
Nice try, thanks for adding this.
We had to change it because you make it appear as a full-scale hospital, which it isn’t. I made some fixes here too.

Hi there,

Thanks for the clear changeset description. But if I understand it correctly, the road should not be marked as private at all → open to everyone (pedestrians, cyclists, cars), right?

I am asking because your change made it from "private" to "private but cyclists may use it".

Hello.

I suggest you inspect OSM data more carefully before dropping comments like this.

The reason for the merge is that UrbIS considers this to be a single building structure with a single ref:UrbIS number.

I agree that this structure is made of several parts, and that is why it was designed while respecting the existing shapes of the 3 parts, which can be found here.

No strong opinion myself about VauxHall. I have been there a few times, it is indeed a covered structure, it may qualify as a roof if you prefer. I’ve just made the change.

Hello,

Please do not forget to write a meaningful changeset title when you upload items to the database.

Do not just type "-" to get rid of the warning. Your latest edits with no title look suspicious because of that.

Have a nice day!

Hello,

I saw you requested a review of your changeset. Here are some comments.

For a first, please try to write a more meaningful title upon uploading changes. 100% of what people do when mapping would qualify as "ajout de plusieurs éléments". For this one, you could have said that you improved the shape of roads in the car park an created a missing connector between them.

I do not know this shopping mall but upon looking on different versions of aerial imagery, it looks like this path here (way/1202960145) has been drawn across parking spaces and across a hedge. If there is a connector, it is maybe slightly more to the east.

For this one (way/1202960145), highway=footway would probably be a better choice than highway=path, since it will be only for pedestrians, right,

Have a nice day.

It was already reverted by user @RaphaelPasloin who was kind enough to survey it and who confirmed that the name of the street should not be changed.

We fixed it already. Nothing more to do here.

Hello,

Thanks for this but can you please consider grouping such changes into one single changeset, i.e. selecting all relations and putting them all at once into the container relation.

This is because each changeset created a huge bounding box, spanning over the entire Brussels Region. It makes it much harder for us who are reviewing latest changes on the map here, with several large bounding boxes flooding the history. Also, the relation has been created less than one year ago but was iterated 156 times, and 9 times already in the last hours.

Thanks in advance. Have a nice day.

Hello and welcome here.

Thanks for your first edit.
I had to redo it, primarily for the following reasons.

Adding a node with just a name is useless, the database won’t know what to do with it and it won’t show up on the map.
Capgemini is a company, right → so we tag it as office=company.

The building already has an address. So, any point within the building inherits the same address, you don’t need to repeat it manually on every point. Leave it blank, it will be all right.

I fixed it.

Hello,
The phone number looks invalid: too few digits, could you please check again.

Oxfam already on the map, sorry but we had to delete your changes.

Make sure you use an up-to-date copy of the map, we frequently have problems caused by users of Organic Maps who keep adding "missing" data.

Thanks for replying.

I am also sometimes confused when editing with OsmAnd. If you add data, do not push the "left" arrow, because that will cancel the changes. There is a small "Save" button in the lower-right corner.

Hello,

This is a strange edit.
You did not change any tag and didn’t move the node either, yet you created a modified version of the object.

What did you want to achieve with this edit? Can we help?

Hello and welcome.

Not bad for a first try.
I had to do a few changes, because we have some naming or tagging conventions to keep the map in good order.

Have a nice day.

Hello!

Next time, please make sure to press the upload button in StreetComplete when you travel to another place.

As you can see, your upload contains both your answers from Belgium and Corsica, and this creates a huge bounding box spanning over several territories.

Official name of the exit (posted inside the station + in official GTFS data) is:

name Rue de la Loi - Wetstraat
name:fr Rue de la Loi
name:nl Wetstraat

Changing this into "name:nl=Lex" looks like a mistake to me.

Same for the elevator, which should have no name at all.

Hello,

Is the Oliobox orange container gone?

I see that you added to the database that the Oliobox container no longer takes cooking oil but accepts glass bottles.
node/8642802434/history

It is probably a mistake, I suppose this is a confusion with the other container by Bruxelles-Propreté/Net Brussel. Those are separate devices and each one has an operator and a type of garbage they accept.

I can fix it but first, do you remember how many types of containers were here?

FYI, we had voluntarily *not* added such a restriction because of the provision at the end of article 9.1.2.1° of Belgian traffic law.

There is an exception: if the cycle track is on the left-hand side and if the cyclist wants to turn right onto Rue d'Oultremont (or do Oultremont→Yser→Chevalerie, for instance), then riding on the ordinary road is legal.

I won’t fight for this one, because cycle routing will still continue working here, but this is something always useful to know.

Have a nice day.

It look like the large buildings were not drawn correctly, indeed. I suspect it’s the same problem we had in the past with old UrbIS data. Thanks for the reply, I fixed the layout here.
