Hello,

Two weeks ago, a mapper confirmed the bridge could only be used in one direction, also for cyclists.

Is there a brand new cycle track here?

Hello,
Thanks for having surveyed and added bicycle stands. This is good work!
I want to inform you of something about the way we calculate the capacity in OSM.
U-shaped or A-shaped stands can accomodate two bicycles each. Therefore, for this kind of devices, if we see a range of 4 stands, capacity=8.
Happy mapping.

Hello,

Nice add; I realise there are plenty of new buildings in that area.

Tip of the day: for buildings in Brussels, always draw on top of the UrbisAdm layer. (AIV Flanders is low-res and if you use it you will draw a distorted view of the roof.)

Hello,

It depends what kind of error we are talking about.

I bet the error is when municipalities have a long street and give it a different name for the part in the middle, this is certainly confusing for everyone.

But OSM data looks correct to me: the name of the ways matches UrbIS reference maps and it apparently matches street signs too.

Hello,
Two more things:
1) Those paths must be quite recent: I checked with high-resolution UrbIS 2020 imagery and there weren’t there, not even a raw trace of future works, and even some bushes in the way, which I guess have been removed.
2) highway=track implies they will be open to all vehicles in routing queries (unless you add motor_vehicle=no, horse=no and so on)
osm.wiki/OSM_tags_for_routing/Access_restrictions#Belgium
If those paths are solely to be used on foot, I would keep highway=footway.
highway=path would be a good second choice (and some mobile apps such as OsmAnd~ render them slightly differently, in case it is something you need to do).

OK, thanks.
Setting this as "alt_name" would make it visible in Nominatim searches while not cluttering the map with non-official names, I’ll change it.

Hello,
Is "Chemin de paillis - Finse piste" an official—and signposted—name? Or is it merely a description?

Hello,
Thanks for this - I fixed the Dutch name too. Assuming it is "de Launoit", according to Wikipedia/Wikidata.

Hello,
Just for the record: I enquired about this to the city department in charge of those matters, I will keep you informed about what they say.
This is a very common issue: municipalities often publish brochures or maps; I can understand the reasons why you took that information for granted.

Thanks. So be it, then.

Hello,
Do you know about the situation for cyclists?
You used a generic oneway=yes tag here, hence I suppose you wanted to forbid cyclists from using it in both directions, just like motor traffic. Is that correct?

Looks like those ways were created from you (version 1 is yours):

Hello,

Are you sure about the barriers blocking all the tiny streets inside Cité Hellemans/Hellemanswijk?

As long as I remember, there are cycle barriers on the northern and, and no barriers at all on the southern end (rising bollards only).
Your changes make those streets completely blocked for routing.
Did something change recently? Did they install new barriers to close the streets completely?

Hello,
I think this name has no longer been used for several decades.
STIB/MIVB calls this site "Usine centrale - Centrale werkplaats".

Hello,
Thanks for this.
Just one thing: beware of the delete button because you erased a bus stop position and consequently broke bus route 77. I restored it by finding references in database backups.

Thanks for this one. I was planning to survey it today, because I thought not all of those streets were connected to the paths around of the building. Thanks for having visited the place and checked, that saved me some survey time. :-)

Hello,
If you want to improve street layout and move objects, I recommend NOT to use "AIV Flanders most recent aerial imagery". This is a low-res imagery for Flanders, and sometimes it is not so recent. We have better imagery for Brussels through UrbIS, though iD does not include the latest version. ;-)

107522106 over 4 years ago

Thanks for this.
I had to revert some of the changes because the iD editor is not suited for such changes on the map. You may not have realized this but the editor split the border into lots of tiny chunks—some of them being unnecessary—and you moved the official border, making Brussels bigger and Flanders smaller. I tried to fix everything I could, while keeping the useful part about the LEZ.

Hello,
If you change a road into highway=construction, never forget to add construction=secondary (or any type the road belonged to).
That would help a lot to restore a proper situation once the works are complete. Some apps such as StreetComplete use that too.
