Changeset When Comment

Hello,
Rue Théophile De Baisieux/Théophile De Baisieuxstraat (5229853) was tagged with cyclestreet=no
Is that a typo or do we really have to set non-cycle streets explicitely?

74255386 about 6 years ago

Hello,
Thanks for spotting this.
Indeed, this is a mistake. I used StreetComplete and must have pressed the wrong button. Fixed now.

Hello,
I reverted most of your changeset.
I want to inform you that all the cycling infrastructure was already on the map; I live nearby and had patiently surveyed the area during and after the roadworks.
I understand that trying to add complex infrastructure on your first edit is quite difficult.
Do not lose hope, go on learning about how OSM works, how objects should be drawn and tagged properly.
Have a nice day!

There are also several hundreds of relations with type=associatedStreet.
We create them manually and they contain the street parts and the houses. This relations aims at centralizing all the common traits for those (municipality + postcode).
See example here: relation/3071184
This is a long street spanning over 3 municipalities and we created 3 different relations.

Communes are relations.
They are easily found through the search box, e.g. Schaerbeek relation/58260 or relation/60144

Hello,
I wish to inform you that we never fill the "name" tag on this kind of objects in OSM (boundary=administrative relations).
The names automatically derive from existing structures next to it. Also, it creates validation warnings because you made up names that are not the official names. Can you undo your changes?

75926146 about 6 years ago

Hello,
I reverted your changeset. It is adviseable not to add name tags on stop position nodes (those nodes are technical positions along the tracks; all the information about stop names or route relations is already correct in OSM).

Hello @takje,
Please be aware that photo booths are not rendered within OsmAnd, even though they exist in the database.
I had to revert your changeset because it was duplicating existing objects.

75606840 about 6 years ago

Hello,
In your edit, you changed several boundaries, namely:
* Zellik (3962635, v7)
* Halle-Vilvoorde (2524255, v63)
* Brussels-Capital (2404020, v32)
* Asse (225173, v66)
* French Community (78967, v572)
* Ganshoren (58257, v8)
* Flemish Brabant (58004, v502)
* Brussels-Capital (54094, v108)
* Flanders (53134, v739)

Have you been playing with official boundaries between regions and municipalities?
Why those changes? What were you actually trying to do with this edit?

Hello,
Thanks for this.
The new track is visible on UrbIS 2019 imagery, I bet you might want to use this one instead of AGIV Flanders. I had to redraw it because it runs behind the bus platform and intersections are treated differently.
One-way or two-way?
Compulsory or optional? (Depends on the type of road signs.)

Hello,
Thanks for this.
If you want to draw very small details like footways in Brussels, I suggest to select UrbIS aerial imagery instead. It has a higher quality and is more recent. :-)

Hallo,
"bicycle=yes + motor_vehicle=yes + maxspeed=30"
Is deze weg way/731716210 een fietsstraat?

75292740 about 6 years ago

Hello,
Good to see more fietsstraten in Brussels.
Please read this: cyclestreet=*
bicycle=designated is incorrect.

74862340 about 6 years ago

Oh, I see what went on. You’re using the iD editor, right?
Not your fault here. The iD devs recently implemented suggested "fixes". Sadly, it creates harmful changes for many objects, e.g. assuming that subways and railways are the same thing.
(osm.wiki/ID/Controversial_Decisions)
I’ll raise the issue within the community. In the mean time, I’d recommend avoiding touching public transport infrastructure, it is really complicated to map properly.

74862340 about 6 years ago

Hello,
I think I’ll have to revert this edit (and also 74862318 and 74806237).
We already use public_transport=stop_position on those nodes, which is the standard PTv2 scheme.
Do you really need to use the other tagging scheme? What for?

74746897 about 6 years ago

Hello,
A woonerf (F12a roadsigns) should be tagged as highway=living_street with a 20-kph speed limit, not highway=residential.
I updated the tags.
Have a nice day.

Hello,
I wish to inform you that Place du Quatre Août/Vier Augustusplein (the roundabout) and Pont Fernand Demany/Fernand Demanybrug (the road with the bus stops near Carrefour supermarket) are within a "zone 30". There are road signs along the roundabout.
I fixed your edit, which was wrong.
There are many large 30-kph zones in Brussels, this requires special care when surveying. Otherwise, we risk inserting wrong data in the database.
I suggest you turn off the speed limit quest in StreetComplete; if you update the app, newer versions have it turned off for that reason.
Wish you well.

Hello,
I wish to inform you that Brussels city centre is a large "zone 30". The road signs are located at every entrance, near the large ring boulevards (Kleine Ring).
Having no speed signs in every street within that area does not mean default BE:urban speed (50 kph) applies.
Don’t worry, I’ll fix those ones.
Have a nice day.

Hello,
Interesting edit for a first contribution. Welcome to OSM.
Perhaps you might be interested to know that we have accurate numerical imagery for building structures in Brussels. And if you are interested to map objects from aerial imagery, do know that we also have aerial imagery, more recent and with a higher resolution than the pictures from AGIV Flanders which you used.
Don’t worry, I have fixed the shape of those buildings already.
Have a nice day.

73313604 over 6 years ago

Hello,
Why did you make this change?
All over Brussels we tend to put the traffic lights on the intersecting nodes between roads. This is a standard way that works well with all routing engines.
Putting them near the actual location of traffic lights is another approach, it does not work everywhere. Sadly, the current situation is a mess because direction tags are missing. Not sure the iD editor is suitable to do this.
Do you have special requirements for those streets? Was it asked by anyone or discussed with other mappers?
Thanks for any thoughts on this.
Have a nice day.
