Changeset When Comment

Bonjour,

Hello,

You seem to have been making several changes at once on the map, mostly diplomatic offices.

I wish to inform you that your changes are triggering multiple validation issues on the map; you could see an example here: http://osmose.openstreetmap.fr/en/map/#username=RudolpheDeer&zoom=15&lat=50.84517&lon=4.38478&item=5060&level=1%2C2%2C3&tags=&fixable=

It’s cool you want to improve the map, but I must inform you that the naming conventions for international institutions—especially in a multilingual city—is really tricky.

Would you please be so kind as to explain the intended changes. What did you actually mean to update? Does it come from a community recommendation?

By the way, if you want to save time in the future you can dispense with:
* access=yes: everything is access=yes by default, we usually use it to introduce restrictions
* fee=no: principle of least surprise = all of them are free of charge unless explicitely tagged otherwise.

It’s good that you are adding bicycle stands to the map. Keep going!

73150512 over 6 years ago

Hello,
Shouldn’t it be bicycle_parking=stands instead?
(See here: this is how we tag the inverted U system that is commonplace in Brussels: bicycle_parking=*).

Hello,
A couple of months ago you removed "amenity=doctors" on the existing node here (node/2255618824); as a consequence it became invisible on the map.
Today you created a second node with the same name.
I suggest editing the oldest node instead of creating duplicates.
What do you think?

Hello,
Thanks for contributing to OSM.
I wish to inform you that the cycle track was already properly mapped.
I removed the one you created.
Maybe you didn’t see it because some part of the track is mapped along with the footway (there are D10 signs, infrastructure is shaped), with appropriate tags.

Don’t bother, I surveyed the station and found it. There are several such devices, in fact.

Hello,
I had surved this pier and put the node at the location of the main board with information about the service and timetables. This is how we usually proceed with bus stops.
You moved it closer to the pier.
What does the new location correspond to?
Thanks in advance.

Hello,
You changed the name of Panos sandwich shop into "Brew dog".
I want to inform you that BrewDog Café is located on the other side of the street and was already properly mapped.
Apparently you edited from a mobile phone: maybe your phone didn’t show your location correctly. That’s why we must always check against existing buildings.
I am reverting your edit.

Hello,
Interesting edit. I wish to inform you that drawing houses in Brussels is better achieved with Urbis numerical imagery (or Urbis aerial imagery as a second choice). Also, don’t forget to snap a house to existing nodes of its neighbours.
Don’t worry, I fixed the houses you created here.

Hello,
Thanks for adding info about a defibrillator.
Montgomery station has 3 levels with platforms (trams 7/25 on level –1, trams 39/44 on level –2 and metro 1 on level –3). Do you still remember which of this floor is equipped with the device?

Hello,
Thanks for spotting this. It was a mistake: hitting Ctrl-V in JOSM and inadvertently pasting bad data onto a node.
Have a nice day.

Hello,
Thanks for spotting changes in the city.
Just one piece of advice: next time you see a closed bar or amenity, just remove the tags related to its activity (name, category, etc.) but please keep the node. Destroying a node is a really bad idea: we lose the history attached to it, and the node was also used for other things (house number).
Don’t worry, we all learn from mistakes.

71783655 over 6 years ago

Hello,
Sorry but I had to revert this.
The nodes you edited are the "stop positions"; those are connected to the highway network. We do not add names on those, to avoid duplicating the same information at multiple places.
The names are already found on the platform nodes.
Have a nice day.

Hello,

Welcome to OSM. Do not hesitate to write to other mappers or join existing mailing lists if you need some guidance or advice.

I am writing to you because of a few issues with your latest edits this week:
1) duplicate nodes or ways (e.g. nodes 6596224071 and 6596224072: you created multiple nodes on the same location).
2) misleading changeset comments. Whenever you upload changes, please write a short description of what you did. Not "08/07/2019" → this is the date. (The date is autogenerated in the changeset XML anyway.)

Have a nice day.

If you surveyed the place recently, I suppose you must be right. Either UrbIS 2018 aerial imagery was misleading—it really looks like a roundabout—or the place was rearranged quite recently.
oneway=yes around the central island anyway?

Hello,
Berlaymont is the name of the EC building.
The quest in StreetComplete ("What is the name of this tourist attraction") was about the part of the Berlin wall that had been installed here.
Don’t worry, I fixed it.

70272023 over 6 years ago

Hello,
Why does this building have level=-1?
Incidently, the building goes above way/471909659 (but that should be okay with the layers tags).
What do you think?

69182557 over 6 years ago

Hi and thanks for writing back.
Don’t worry too much, it was a good idea to map that place as an area. I could fix that easily to keep the area while having routable roads across it..
Keep adding stuff to OSM, it’s nice to have more people here.
