| West Eifel: Uncharted Territory | Hi yalla! :-)

| Garmin eTrex Vista handling of tracks | Hi Tom, I do not think that there is a practical point limit. There are often quite many points at osm.org/traces E.g. @jairo58/traces/1374143 has 32000 points. And even if you should encounter some limit - you can edit gpx files with (nearly?) any plain text editor to split the track into smaller parts. Of course, the logical XML structure needs to be kept valid/intact. There is another issue (well) known: track saving on devices sometimes (depending on the device) results in track simplification to save storage space. At least that is true for older Garmin devices. Only the “active log” is really usable. For the timestamp problem see e.g. http://help.openstreetmap.org/questions/6827/unable-to-upload-tracks-in-gpx-format/6836 If your device saves its data onto a SD card you could remove it and use a card reader? |

| Mappy Holidays to all! | isn’t that tagging for the renderer? confused ;-) Have nice days! |

| Rivers in Palawan not showing on main map | The other layers are usually slower updated - so this situation may occur if the rivers were okay before, but are broken currently. However, I cannot find the source of the problem here. Are you sure that the mapnik (“standard”) tiles are fresh? E.g. the bridge was created months before the river. By the way: your question would have been better suited for our help centre. |

| Beaches without the Sea | LOL, thanks for that |

| Interesting Read - Melbourne in 1800's was surveyed to an accuracy of 16.8 feet. | Note to others: the book’s full text seems not to be available for me (from Germany). |

| Using the DOD GS-600 or similar HD blackbox gps cameras for OSM | Thanks for the interesting report, Marlow! |
|
| Test driving iD | Stereo, that is off topic, you’re out! ;-) Yes, sure, it is - well, unless the aerial imaginary is misaligned by the same offset. :P On topic: great to see big advances with iD! Maybe I will try on my own - looks good! I like the (curve) refinement nodes on the street (at least I think the smaller grey dots should symbolize that). Saves much clicking work. I know that useful (for tracing) function from the gpsies.com tour creator. |

| 1 Million Mappers Soon ... No, Not Really | The “find nearby users” could be set up/programmed to show only users who are active (probably is is just: send the patch) - it is not needed to delete user accounts. I would support such a change (maybe user configurable?). Also some people may come back after a long inactivity. Sure, one should not confuse the number of user accounts with the number of active users (however “active” is defined) - and I think it usually is quite clear about which figure one is talking. To see active users (who are mapping nearby) you can use WhoDidIt (but it currently seems to be not displaying edits - worked some hours ago). That is a bit more useful, IMHO. |

| Amenity/shop with multiple housenumbers. How to map it? | Hmm, maybe I, too, understand it wrong… but isn’t this your sitution? http://i.imgur.com/BlhSd.png (selected (yellow) is one of two shops; the outer way is the building, the light blue nodes are house number nodes). Building as usual as closed ways or building relation, amenity as area, housenumers as (unconnected) nodes at the place where they belong to. |
