Oops. I was using Potlatch rather than iD, so had to type in that key, and I remembered it wrong. I will certainly remember it now, and I will go back over recent work and correct those too.

By the way, are there other rotor:* keys I don't know about? If there are, then that key makes good sense. Otherwise I think rotor_diameter would actually make better sense.

I see what you mean. That's fine then. Thanks for responding!

It looks like you upgraded CR 73 (Gun Club Road) to Primary. I won't change it, but in my opinion it should be secondary; it is a County route, not a State route, and runs closely parallel to E-470.

I don't see why you changed the stretch of East Colfax Avenue from Tower Road to I-70 East to Secondary. It should be Primary--it carries two US highways AND and Interstate business route.

Please revert these (delete the name tag entirely).

Where are you getting these names such as "Aurora Freeway" and "Commerce City Freeway"? The signs don't show these names and I've never even heard them called by these names. I hope you aren't giving them your own names!

Thanks for adding the buildings in Mountain Home, Wyocolo, etc. I was planning on it but you beat me to it. Has a HOT project been set up for the Mullen Fire? I did add the fire station there.

I was not aware that Rand McNally was using OpenStreetMap data. And they've been around a LONG time, way before OSM came along.

No problem with the name then.

You said: "there's not a reason to step up for one exit with intersections on either end." I would agree if there were intersections just to each side of the interchange. But there's more than 10 miles of controlled access (overpasses, underpasses, dead ends) which has all the characteristics of a motorway or freeway.

89998359 over 5 years ago

Maybe it should be noname = yes, and alt_name = Cannonball Stageline?

89998359 over 5 years ago

ditto for the east end of motorway (just west of Southwest 120 Avenue)

By the way, I'm also wondering about name = Cannonball Stageline. Street view doesn't show that on any signs that I saw, and business addresses usually have "US-54" or "US Highway 54" or something similar.

And I did intentionally leave that bit of it just east of Southeast 100th Avenue as Trunk as it has those characteristics (left and right turn lanes, so part of the intersection). That's why I didn't map it as motorway all the way to Southeast 100th Avenue.

89998359 over 5 years ago

It's true that there is only ONE actual interchange on this stretch, but the entire length now mapped as motorway has all the motorway features (overpasses and underpasses of lesser roads, dead-end country roads that used to cross the highway, etc.)

89998359 over 5 years ago

Not really. This is a long stretch (pretty sure it's more than 10 miles) of continuously completely controlled access highway (motorway). I also checked Rand McNally road atlas; I tend to respect their take, and they have this stretch mapped as freeway. And I'm sure the long-range plan is for the parts that are now Trunk (both east and west) to be upgraded to freeway standards, and eventually maybe even a bypass of Kingman. That could take quite a while, unless government comes to their senses and really starts to take the nation's infrastructure a lot more seriously.

So you didn’t think my edits made sense? They make perfect sense to me. Do you understand my reasoning? Not a big deal though. Do you live in Kansas? I’ve been through Kansas many times, mainly on I-70 and in the KC metro area.

I have finished making edits to 54/400 between Pratt and Wichita. I did quite a bit more than what I said I would do, as I always like to make improvements along the way, especially adding details of interchanges; I also deleted a few false intersections

89887974 over 5 years ago

I will take care of it. It does look, however, like some grading was done to accommodate a future overpass. Maybe they ran out of money?

89887974 over 5 years ago

As I was preparing to do this, I noticed something odd which I would like to double check. Take a look at this and then start whatever editor you use and look at the various aerial photography. I would like to call either KS DOT or Pratt County to see what they say about this intersection.
