A building, monument, statue or other edifice to celebrate a war or victory, or (predominating in modern times) to commemorate those who died or were injured in a war.
- When the memorial can be clearly defined with another value (such as
memorial=statuefor a war memorial statue), the following tagging can be used:memorial=statue+war_memorial=yes[1] [2].
How to map
Set a node at the center of the war memorial or an area along its outline and add historic=memorial + memorial=war_memorial
Additionally, one can add subject=* and/or subject:wikidata=* to indicate which specific war/conflict/battle/... this memorial remembers.
