| Tools for this tag |
A dip hazard is a dip in the road which may be hazardous to motorists. This tag covers both artificial dips and natural dips in the road that form over time as the roadway deteriorates. Only use this tag when it is indicated by road signs.
- For speed dips or rumble strips, see
traffic_calming=*instead. Traffic calming devices themselves should not normally be tagged withhazard=dip.
How to map
Dip hazards may be mapped in the following ways:
- Place a node
at the location of the dip hazard traffic sign, tagged traffic_sign=hazard(or code) +hazard=dip. - Tag a node
along a highway=*way
at the location of the sign - Tag the section
of highway=*where the dip hazard is present.
