Once again, nonsensical translations, provocations, and attempts at an editing war. User Oivo357 translates into Czech and Slovak, but does so stupidly and foolishly, using only a machine translator without any knowledge of specific national characteristics and formulations. The translations are then inaccurate and misleading. --HaPe-CZ (talk) 12:09, 24 September 2025 (UTC)

Incorrect translation

@Dušan Kreheľ: Hi, why you didn't translate word "specifies" - "špecifikuje"?

@Oivo357: It's not necessary (aka note-taking style), but you mentioned it, so I added it there. --Dušan Kreheľ (talk) 07:59, 25 September 2025 (UTC)

Info

For those who don't know... a memorial is something bigger, a more grandiose structure. A commemorative plaque is still just a commemorative plaque somewhere on a wall. A memorial can contain several commemorative plaques (but not vice versa :D). Therefore, the translation by @Ovio357: is incorrect. --HaPe-CZ (talk) 09:13, 25 September 2025 (UTC)

@HaPe-CZ: Je to podľa mňa ± ok,lebo
  1. Pamätná tabuľa je „podkategória“ pamätníka, ak kategorizuješ pojmy.
  2. pamätník ―„dielo, kt. pripomína nejakú udalosť, pomník“ (KSSJ v. 4) --Dušan Kreheľ (talk) 10:11, 25 September 2025 (UTC)
@Dušan Kreheľ: ... Subcategories? Maybe, but not as a monument.
  1. Memorial ... "památník" (deepl) / "pamětní" (google). And that is the difference and the problem. This is not a physical object but a general object of memory (Google is right). In this case, the memorial plaque is not directly a monument but only a specific reminder.
  2. Monument 3D place ... Pomník or Památník and translations into other languages on Wikipedia
  3. Plaque 2D object ... Pamětní deska and translations into other languages on Wikipedia
