The webadmins of the OSM blog have set up their web pages so that adverts such as this one are not indexed by search engines, so your page ranking will not go up. Combine that fact with the fact that only a dozen people in the LV area would see this ad, and 100% would recognize it as spam, you're really wasting your time here.

Daadab Kenya - refugee camp

Perhaps we can ask SatSentinel if we can map with their images. We could map out human rights issues.

Daadab Kenya - refugee camp

Yes, SatSentinel has satellite imagery.

Opencyclemap

Thanks for creating OpenCycleMap. Take care.

Riga is flooded

Also, this way is an 'inner' osm.org/browse/way/84975411 but it intersects (shares a node) with the outer part of the relation.
osm.org/browse/relation/1269355

Riga is flooded

There were 2 changesets which affected the coastline and the river in Riga.
osm.org/browse/changeset/8708097
osm.org/browse/changeset/8696007

I suspect it may be the riverbank relation osm.org/browse/relation/1269283
or way osm.org/browse/way/84974749 which was edited in both edits.

One relation was deleted as well.

Opencyclemap

The owner of the Cyclemap doesn't have enough resources to update the world map every few minutes, so he does it every couple of weeks.
Perhaps the Cyclemap should try to get sponsorship from bike manufacturers or the Tour De France.

Satillite Image of Bermda

I'd recommend just deleting the 'man made = pier' tag, and adding a 'note = demolished' tag.
For land buildings, there's the Brownfield tag for cleared land.
landuse=brownfield

Kathmandu; Nepali and International Names

There is no restriction on placing localities within cities.
place=locality

Places like Times Square, or Picadilly Circus are intersections just like the places that Prabhasp described.

Kathmandu; Nepali and International Names

There's a few variations of the name tag
osm.wiki/Name

name=Irgendwas (the default name, used locally)
name:en=Something (the name in English)

In addition to place=suburb there is also place=locality
osm.wiki/Place

Documentation of Google Map Maker/GoogleEarth/Yahoo/Bing Error vs OSM

I noticed when suggesting bike route fixes to google maps, that they take a few weeks to respond.

A SEO company owner would know what sites don't help with padding google search results.
pro tip, this is one of those sites.

Buggy behavour merging 'The Castings' road.

Cool.

Why so many airports in NZ?

I see a lot of grass strips.
Technically, if you can land a cropduster, it's an aerodrome.

ODBL in the real world...

I thought the idea was to make the map more open.
I'd prefer a FreeBSD license.

Modelling a locked gate

@natchspazz I'll stick with the way it's signed.

Just finished the labyrinth of the drielandenpunt

Cool!
So, technically, you could take out a GPS, and get directions to the exit.

What constitutes a track ?

For me, a track is a wide path that can fit a car, or horse drawn cart, but normally excludes standard motor vehicles. (I went by the picture of an old doubletrack on the wiki page)

I've been tagging overgrown logging roads as tracks, as you need four wheel drive for those. A car can fit on a track, but you wouldn't normally drive a standard car on one, or if you can, there's probably a gate that makes the service road into a bike path, horse path, or recreational greenway, and only parks board vehicles drive on it to service the park.

And the difference between a path and a track is that a track is wide enough for an ATV for a Jeep to drive on.
