I agree. What's now here is just the pedestal, and the current tags apply to it (I think note and description are appropriately used here). The statue-specific tags have been removed, as you suggest.

Thanks again for your edits! There is usually no one way to map, but usually most useful to go along with the common practice, which just takes a little time. Hope to see more edits, and please feel free to send a separate note if you have questions. Merci!

Also, thanks for adding the localized French name to the building, that looks correct!

115089217 about 4 years ago

Not needed in this case, but there is an "alt_name" tag if there is an alternate name. (There are other name tags described on the wiki, too, but think this is the simplest tagging method.)

Sorry, just a few more adjustments to your edits. It's suitable to add tags to the building object if it is the entire feature; if the building contains multiple smaller features, please add them as separate nodes. The Visitor Center is not the entire building, and already existed (node/4823592277) so I removed tags from the building.

The Microsoft West Campus was added as a landuse relation with multiple outer members in order to form its complete outline. There's no need to add the building as a member as it is included/enclosed within this area. (I have removed it from the relation.)

Hi, I agree that it's probably OK to remove the relation here since it only had one member, but the landuse=commercial tag was lost in your deletion. I've already re-added it to the way.

Hi, welcome to OSM! It appeared that the building you drew was already on the map. Thanks for the address, I moved it to the existing building, separating the number from the street name and expanding the abbreviations. For the result, see: way/29252347. I would suggest right-clicking on objects on osm.org and using "Query Features" to view existing objects for mapping examples. Thanks again!

Unfortunately, so was the health dept. :(

Hi, welcome to OSM and thanks for the edits! Great job adding the house and street. Looks like you did expand the abbreviation for NE to Northeast, but could also expand Ave to Avenue on both the house and the street? Thanks again, hope to see more edits!

Hi, this is really considerate of you, thanks for taking the extra effort to make the change for others' safety!

The imagery shift option is at the bottom of the backgrounds panel

109236215 over 4 years ago

Sure! In iD, if you open on the "backgrounds" pane (from the icons on the right), updated imagery is available in two of the options Esri World Imagery and Maxar Standard. The imagery may be shifted, so would suggest tracing the buildings, then perhaps switching back to Bing and realigning with that imagery (having most buildings in area consistently aligned is best, and Bing is usually pretty good)

Hi, welcome to OSM! Good job with the edits, always glad to see new construction mapped - and with addresses! Just a couple of tips: you can make your building corners square in iD with the ‘q’ hotkey (or select, then right click for popup menu), and the street name convention is to expand abbreviations like NW. Hope to see more edits! Thanks.

Hope this helps - steps in ID main and left panels:
1. Select the inner way. Under Tags, remove amenity=parking, and add area=yes. Its "inner" role is correct.
2. Select the outer way. Add area=yes. Its "outer" role is correct.
3. Under Relations, select "Parking Lot" (which selects the relation). The amenity=parking and other tags should be listed here, and the other features listed under "Members" as areas, with their correct inner and outer roles.

Yes, thanks for the edits! Both of tekim's tips are good advice. Looks like you're off to a good start, hope to see more additions to the map!

Hi, thanks for the edit! It looks however like someone had already tagged this with the recommended demolished: lifecycle tagging prefix. Not sure if you had seen that "building=collapsed" is deprecated? (The wiki page for that tag explains why). If you agree, could you please change it back? Thanks again!
