over 3 years ago | Thanks, I've gone ahead and added the address details along with the existing shop tags on the building object.
over 3 years ago | Hi, your new node does add more helpful info, but the shop was already tagged on the building, so now we have two. Perhaps just didn't notice that this time - could you please add it to the way instead? Thanks! (osm.org/go/WIdH4Ld5d?way=425947103)
over 3 years ago | Hi, thanks for the edits! I restored the Stoneway Hardware node to keep the address info, but removed the business-specific tags from it based on your change.
over 3 years ago | Hi, a ‘gnomon’ is the part of a sundial which casts the shadow. For some sundials, the @human stands in the middle and becomes the gnomon themselves, so thought this would be an appropriate tag, didn’t find an alternative. This could also perhaps be added to osm.org/go/0EQExy~nO?node=9563395755 from its note.
over 3 years ago | Hi, nice additions, just wanted to let you know I adjusted them a little, moving the rest of the Starbucks-business specific tags from the building to the node, and put back the building tag on the KinderCare, which looks like it was inadvertently removed. Thanks!
over 3 years ago | Hi, welcome to OSM and thanks for the edits! The tag formatting looks really good, and appreciate the enthusiasm! Just wanted to mention to be sure not to use copyrighted sources (like Google) as the source of this detail. Thanks again.
over 3 years ago | Hi, thanks for the update! Guessing that just the business tags could be removed, and the address tags could remain for the next tenant? If so, I can put it back that way. Thanks again.
almost 4 years ago | Great, thanks for the edit - welcome to OSM!
almost 4 years ago | Hi, welcome to OSM and thanks for the additions! Another mapper has already adjusted your changes a bit: they changed the playground tagging to leisure=playground, the individual building tags to building=school, and squared the building corners. Maybe you could add the rest of the school buildings similarly? Keep at it, and thanks again!
almost 4 years ago | Hi, it looks like you may have accidentally removed the building tag from the Ale House, I’ve already put it back, but feel free to let me know if it turns out you meant to do that. Thanks!
almost 4 years ago | Also, a tip on address names: the tagging norm is to expand street name abbreviations (NW Gilman Blvd would be Northwest Gilman Boulevard). Thanks again!
almost 4 years ago | Hi, welcome to OSM, and thanks for the edits! Yes, there's an ambiguity in the tagging for small grocery stores -- if you read the wiki, there it's suggested supermarket if large enough for carts, otherwise a shop=convenience can work.
almost 4 years ago | Hi, welcome to OSM, and thanks for the edits!
almost 4 years ago | Hi, welcome to OSM, and thanks for the nice edits (and to the theatre changes in Portland). Hope to see more!
almost 4 years ago | Hi, welcome to OSM! Thanks for adding the houses, it looks like with taking a little more care while drawing each house, could match the building outlines much more closely! Would really help them look better. Tip: Also when drawing, select the outline, right-click to pick the corners squaring tool (or press 'q'). Thanks again.
almost 4 years ago | Hi, thanks for the edits! I modified the address you added, moving the unit number into its own tag "addr:unit=D3". (you might not be able to do that in Organic Maps). Keep it up!
almost 4 years ago | Nice edit! Tip: You can "square" corners that are almost 90 degrees (which is usually correct for buildings here) by right-clicking on the house and selecting the square tool in iD. Hope to see more edits! Thanks!
almost 4 years ago | Hi, sorry to bother you, but may I ask what source this edit is based on? It is a strange name to add to what appears to be a residential home, and there is no sign of this in the imagery.
almost 4 years ago | Nope, just saw your edit and thought I'd reach out about this one. BTW, you can do a web search for "OSM Seattle Meetup" if you'd like to discuss mapping in general. Thanks for the contributions!
almost 4 years ago | Hi, thanks for the edit! Just a tip, there are a few different ways mappers often edit closed businesses. One is to "downgrade" the node keeping just the address info for the next business (probably best/easiest, and there's even an iD editor one-right-click option for that). If the closure looks perhaps temporary, could instead add a "lifecycle prefix" like changing "amenity" key to "disused:amenity". (Example: amenity=pub to disused:amenity=pub). Either way, out of date info can be removed completely, though specific address info can often persist.
