over 6 years ago | Hello, The buildings you added were removed from the map last November. Someone reported they had been demolished as part of the construction work here: changeset/64911126/ Are you sure they still exist?
over 6 years ago | Здрасти, Ники, Подходящият таг е place=neighbourhood, ("an area within a place=suburb" -- place=neighbourhood) Tag-ът place=hamlet е за села, не може да се използва за микрорайоните на Люлин.
over 6 years ago | Привет, Ники tag-ът place=hamlet е за малки села с по-малко от 100 жители: place=hamlet. Предполагам, че Тези микрорайони са place=suburb като всички други райони на града.

over 6 years ago | I've removed the smaller building, thanks!
over 6 years ago | Beautiful work 👍
over 6 years ago | Hi! Yes it's a very recent change, it just became pedestrian a week or so ago. I surveyed it in person. It's a pedestrian street that cars can drive on (i.e. mainly, but not 100% exclusively for pedestrians), here's a photo taken yesterday: https://postimg.cc/XZtR6Xd3 I'm not sure what will happen to that short one-way street south-west of it, whether it'll stay one-way or not. At the moment it's still blocked by the roadworks. I'll keep updating the map as the situation evolves :)
over 6 years ago | ...should add this to the Bulgaria wiki page, since it's such a common thing in Bulgaria
over 6 years ago | Thanks. I don't have strong opinions on name vs ref but I'm following this here: entrance=*#Entrances_and_addresses Probably one day we
over 6 years ago | Hi, I added the missing entrances to this block, going just by the alphabetical order. I see you had added some based on survey, if I messed it up don't hesitate to revert and/or let me know and I'll do it.
over 6 years ago | Hello, I see you've added hundreds of buildings, that's great! Try pressing "S" after drawing a building, it will "straighten" the building and give it nice, square corners. Happy mapping!
over 6 years ago | Hello, as a note on the object says, "No Name" is the actual name of the bar. I will add it back.
almost 7 years ago | Hi again birdeatscake, I'm surprised by your use of surface=paving_stones for these streets. Looking at surface=* it seems to me paving_stones form a very smooth surface with almost no gaps between stones. But the pavement on Sofia's "yellow cobblestones", as they are known, is definitely not that smooth. See closeups e.g. here: https://wienerberger.bg/resheniya/jultite-paveta-sofiq-nerazkazanata-istoriq In fact, apart from a few streets built from slabs of concrete, I don't think there's paving_stones much at all in Sofia's battered streets. It seems to be that "sett" is probably the right value. Put it another way -- I'd assume, from the descriptions on the wiki, that you can easily roller-skate on paving stones. I wouldn't roller skate on any street of sett in Sofia, not without knee pads anyway :)
almost 7 years ago | Hi birdeatscake, postal_code is not the same as addr:postcode -- in Bulgaria there is exactly one post office per post code, The postal_code tag means this is the post office that the post office serves. It's a fine point :) But they're not identical, I think.
almost 7 years ago | Hi Poliwrath, It looks like you've realigned buildings to Esri imagery. I just wanted to point out that that imagery is shifted by many meters in Sofia, and, making matters worse, the shift varies in different parts of town. It's better not to use it as a reference, I think. Just my 2 stotinki :)
almost 7 years ago | Hi Michelle, The way that you link to actually has consistent name tags -- I'm guessing you meant this neighbouring way: way/666410942 which has int_name="bul. Nikola Y. Vaptsarov" but name:en="Peyo K. Yavorov Blvd." and name="бул. Пейо К. Яворов" (name and name:en say Yavorov, int_name says Vapsrarov) What happened here can be seen from the history of the way: way/666410942/history One of your colleagues, Corban8, renamed the street from Vaptsarov to Yavorov, but forgot to update the int_name tag. In this case it's the int_name that needs to take the value from name:en. This is very common in Bulgaria, it's a very easy mistake to make. It's an unfortunate consequence of the 3-tag system we use for names, which is probably over-complicated. Does this help? Does this answer the question?
almost 7 years ago | Sounds good! Cheers
almost 7 years ago | Hi, Thanks for looking into it! Yes so we do usually shorten all 3 tags, the name, int_name and name:en. Don't ask me why we _need_ 3 tags in the first place :)
almost 7 years ago | Hello! Yes I agree it does tie two unrelated things together. I'm not precious about which way is better, but I figure let's keep it the way it's done in other parts of the city. That validator code is really neat. Well done to you and your team for writing down those checks. I'll let you know if there's anything I see that should be discussed, but so far you guys are doing great work!
almost 7 years ago | Hello, and welcome to Sofia! I'm pretty sure pl. Vasil Levski is the correct name for this roundabout. Did you really mean to remove it? Cheers!
