over 1 year ago | sorry, missed that.
over 1 year ago | Been out of town since the last edit of the tunnels. looks like you found a good list of sources for the completed sections. i think your post should be included in the associated Relation: relation/13659143, also there is a descent video tour that could be included. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nY6A0_uxyvs
over 1 year ago | The tunnel does make it to the 5th street branch, but is blocked off from that point. the more western tunnel gets blocked off around 6th street.
over 1 year ago | Acces for military bases should be Permit not private as public vehicles have access to the roads if they stop at the gate and receive a permit first.
| 150775301 | over 1 year ago | yes there is a rule that states that along with hiking on unmarked trails on the map, but that is what the paths are used for.
|
over 1 year ago | Ok, i updated to paths to better describe their use "footways, not marked as official "informal" foot paths by the FPDCC but people do use them to hike and bike.
over 1 year ago | yep, but it is used by the public. if you'd like to do some reading on it, see https://activetrans.org/blog/whats-happening-with-the-remaining-section-of-the-weber-spur-trail and https://www.facebook.com/groups/323054253736647
over 1 year ago | must of missed adding the access to it, but I see you got it.
over 1 year ago | noticed a lot of the indoor mapping of pathways that should have been changed to indoor corridors were removed in changeset/142163645, I restored most of them but still missing the main level.
over 1 year ago | I changed access to permissive.
| 150195609 | over 1 year ago | The security guards will tell you to dismount during high traffic hours. That information is on the FAQ https://www.chicago.gov/city/en/sites/chicagoriverwalk/home/faq.html
|
over 1 year ago | The information I have is directly from the city of Chicago.
over 1 year ago | there are designated locations along the riverwalk where bikes must be walked, but otherwise bikes are permitted though most of it.
over 1 year ago | well, the path tag is a non-specific path. It is something someone uses if they are unsure of the path type. So I'm sure there are more around.
over 1 year ago | I think i got those fixed. around the Riverview condos? Changed them to footpath and privet access. They were just path and bike access by default. I try to keep the bike paths current with the Chicago bike map.
almost 2 years ago | yep looks good now
almost 2 years ago | In the loop basically in the area from Harrison up to Ontario and from Halstead to Michigan ave, every road becomes a main throughway depending on where you're trying to get to.
almost 2 years ago | maybe talk with the state officials to get US34 and IL31 rerouted to more used roads???
almost 2 years ago | IDOT designated it as a state route, Part of it is also a US route that runs though Oswego, So it is a primary route designated by those government organizations. as a Functional Classification even IDOT has it marked as primary south of US30. Looking at google maps, it looks like a pretty popular route as I see many cars using it when street view went though. Even routing services follow 34 as a primary route or recommend using 31 to 30 to get though the area.
