I'm using a HTC Tattoo and the accuracy is never better than 4 meters. My standalone GPS unit gets 0.8 meters (sometimes 0.6) accuracy.

Internet access. When travelling it would be nice to be able to know where you can find either an internet café or WiFi access.

Interesting idea. I was thinking it could work better with a simple scoring system. Let's say 100 points for finding a new pub (only awarded after another player confirms it). Confirming an existing pub, 50 points. Unconfirm a faulty entry, 50 points. Adding extra detail, 10 points for each entry.

My GPS unit has a flip out antenna and in the car I usually get a 0.8 meter accuracy.

Have you checked osm.wiki/IOFmapping and osm.wiki/Orienteering ?

Osmarender is faster, but it takes a while to get updated. After all it has to regenerate the tiles.

I would say railway=abandoned since that's they way it would look for a user.

Well, that 512 MB also holds the maps so there isn't that much space left.
