What do you mean: "with" or "without relations" ?
The idea is just: make me a map/overlay of the Dnieper river basin with all tributaries... and for that to work I imagine just choosing the Dnieper river relation and enabling the checkbox "with tributaries" and getting a nice rendered map!

With the second error you still can 'see' your track in potlatch but you don't seem to have a possibility to save it by any means - a second window won't help...

The trick is: I use [http://www.gpstm.com/downloadscontract.php GPS TrackMaker] to convert maplibrary.org's ESRI shape files into gpx files (thanks to Odilon Ferreira Junior from Belo Horizonte! :-)

natural:water is for "closed areas", natural:coastline for the shore of seas or really large lakes. Did you read osm.wiki/index.php/Tag:natural%3Dwater ? I don't like the coastline solution too - it should rather be something like natural:lakeshore or so but water is for areas only. I don't think it will render correctly. A lake with 20.000 nodes as area cannot be opened in potlatch or josm...!
