Changeset When Comment

Hi.

Please see my comment from changeset/82681817 regarding road mergers.

Hi.

You merged two sections of Charles Road. They needed to stay separate as one section is part of a bus route and the other is not. As you can see from relation/1379594, the bus route is now very confused around Elizabeth Avenue, Arnold Road, and Charles Road. When you merge roads, could you check that the relations and tags are the same for both sections, please?

Thanks for adding more detail to the Relief Road.

Hi.

For way/544627633 - "AB17" sounds like it should be tagged as "prow_ref" rather than "name" - it sounds like a right of way reference number.

Hi.

Thanks for the reply - I'll fix it shortly.

Hi.

You've deleted several paths that are under construction - two parallel with Mindenhurst Road and two which link from Mindenhurst Road to The Royal Way, which I saw when I visited last weekend. Was this a mistake, or has construction been cancelled?

Hi.

Regarding way/778558452 (the short link between the two roads) - I'm not familiar with the area, but looking at aerial imagery it looks like there's also a similar link road that allows vehicles to turn left from Henley Road to Caversham Park Road as well.
To keep it simple, I'd probably tag it as highway=tertiary or highway=primary_link; oneway=yes; lanes=1; surface=asphalt; lit=yes; maxspeed=30 mph. I think it's probably safe in this case to leave the name field blank.

Bad edit - will rejoin the ways

Thanks Mac.

I had to undelete some cycleways that the same person had deleted in Addlestone and Pooley Green.

Hi.

You deleted the cycleway alongside Thorpe Lea Road and then tagged Thorpe Lea Road with cycleway=track. According to osm.wiki/Cycling_in_the_United_Kingdom (under "Cycle tracks") "it is generally accepted that drawing the cycle track as a separate way allows greater flexibility."

Thanks for dealing with the crossings/traffic signals.

80614043 almost 6 years ago

Hello!

In this and some other changesets near what was Runnymede Roundabout near Egham and Staines, you changed sets of nodes which were historically separate highway=crossing and highway=traffic_signal back into the separate nodes, after another person had joined them together into a single node. I find it very useful when they are separate, as they show where vehicles should stop at white lines compared to where people should cross.

Could you take a look at changeset/81294471 where the same person has just merged the crossing and traffic_signals nodes again further east, please?

Hi.

You've deleted the shared use path on the north side of Station Road, Addlestone, between the two roundabouts (roughly Hawker Drive to Woburn Hill). The shared use path had been there for some time - it was marked with the sign for Shared cycle/pedestrian path shown here: osm.wiki/Cycling_in_the_United_Kingdom . Can you confirm that it really has gone?

Hello.

way/759167354 has an unusual name. Public rights of way references are tagged using prow_ref rather than name (see osm.wiki/Access_provisions_in_the_United_Kingdom#Public_footpaths) - in this case, it would appear to be "prow_ref=25", or maybe "prow_ref=Ockham FP 25". I'll fix it shortly.

Sorry - that comment was meant for the note, not the changeset!

Cebderby has fixed this in at least a couple of recent changesets

Hello again.

On the new section of road, you've set it to maxspeed=20 mph. The surrounding roads are each 30 mph - can you confirm if the speed limit is reduced just around the level crossing, please?

Jon

Hello.

In this changeset, you've changed the road from tertiary to unclassified, lost the bridge:ref=42, disconnected the road to the car park, disconnected Rainsford Farm Mews, and disconnected the crossing where the footway crosses the road. Could you fix these please?

If your journey planner/sat nav is not allowing travel through level crossings, you might want to contact your provider so they can fix their routing.

Thanks - hopefully I've worked it out, but will check from a PC later.

It's actually only open until the crossing of the dual carriageway, but I can't work out how to split a way in Vespucci
