Also the same for way/190849154 - this is an access route to the cycleways nearby (i.e. between way/225283666 and Eastrop Lane/Eastrop Way), so access=no will prevent journey planners used by cyclists (e.g. basingstoke.cyclestreets.net/area) from being able to use this road.

Hi.

You've set "access=no" on way/651956404/history - according to the sign, only motor vehicles (with exceptions for buses and taxis) are forbidden, so this would not be appropriate. Other access is still allowed by the sign, e.g. non-motorised vehicles, horses, pedestrians...

Great - thanks for fixing the road!

Hello again.

Mitford Road was redeveloped in/before 2018 - I deleted the eastern section plus the western part of Ashburton Road in August 2018. I think I was there for the Watercress Festival in May 2018 (I've got a long backlog of GPS traces and notes, so it takes me months to get round to making edits some times!)
Bing imagery is often out of date these days, which is annoying.

Hello NIck.

Thanks for getting back to me. Replying to your second question first - I use "WHODIDIT" to keep an eye on edits in my area of interest: https://simon04.dev.openstreetmap.org/whodidit/?zoom=12&lat=51.39769&lon=-0.7906&layers=BTT&age=1 and https://simon04.dev.openstreetmap.org/whodidit/?zoom=12&lat=51.14811&lon=-1.11744&layers=BTT&age=1 and https://simon04.dev.openstreetmap.org/whodidit/?zoom=12&lat=51.53522&lon=-1.23589&layers=BTT&age=1

Hi.
The last time I passed Mitford Road, it was no longer circular - the part south of Ashburton Road had been removed when new houses were built there. This formed part of a roundabout. Could you confirm that this part of the road has returned now, and if so, has it returned to being a roundabout?

Yes, it does

The address doesn't quite match the address on the invoice nor the website, so it might be worth reviewing this (the invoice refers to "Wessex Mill" - without the word "flour" - and "Clarks (Wantage)")

Thanks.

I found it strange that the changeset said that traffic was backing up, as if drivers were using the default OSM view.

Hi!

You might want to look at Ludlow Road way/23485720 again - it's been changed in a subsequent changeset, losing a detail that I would have thought would be important (but I'm not familiar with the area).

Hi.
You merged two sections of Brook Drive - one section was part of an LCN relation, the other wasn't. As per my comment on changeset/82681817#map=18/51.42356/-0.48035&layers=C - can you make sure that when you merge roads, both roads share the same tags and relations? If not, other applications that use OSM data (like route planners) will get misleading data.

Hello Alasdair.

Some BOATs near me are similar - closed to motor vehicles for part of each year. Here's an example of one:-
way/302170012

Note that it has motor_vehicle=no, then motor_vehicle:conditional=something @ (date range) to cover the period when it is open. This page describes it:-
osm.wiki/Conditional_restrictions

Hello again.

I apologise - looking at https://www.rowmaps.com/showmap.php?place=Bucklebury&map=OSM&lat=51.4318&lon=1.20289&lonew=W the bridleway you added is the BOAT. In that case, motor vehicles would have the same access as foot, bicycle, and horses.

Jon

Hi.
On way/790301786 you've set motor_vehicle=designated. This means that motor vehicles have a right of way here - "designated" is stronger than "yes". This seems unusual for a bridleway. Did you mean motor_vehicle=private or =no? (see access=*#List_of_possible_values and possibly osm.wiki/Access_provisions_in_the_United_Kingdom#Public_bridleways)

Hi.

You've created some tunnels, e.g. way/786351285, under bridges (e.g. way/733250772). If you look at bridge=*, it says "Do however avoid using both a bridge tag for the upper way and a tunnel for the lower way for the same crossing."
