This changeset has been reverted fully or in part by changeset/61991484 where the changeset comment is: OSM contains facts, not fictional Memorial highways. cleanup after persistent personperson40 vandalism. this is no longer funny, and breaks too many real-world things.

the -991 you list above was not deleted, but -992. assuming that is the one you meant, looking at the achavi link it is one of two clearly visible that you redrew to take a different path.
but as i look again at the achavi and zoom in, suddenly green forests are spilling into the fields of white, so i am hoping your very recent changes are having the desired effect.
which i too am now seeing here as i zoom in above level 15, so i think you have it now.

hallo robert,
your changes go live immediately. you can visualise what you have done at
https://overpass-api.de/achavi/?changeset=61902366
which shows me it is too complicated for me to see at a quick glance what is lacking.
However I re-loaded the area I posted in my diary comment to see if i could recognise this area and i believe one area covered by this changeset can now be seen at
https://tools.geofabrik.de/osmi/?view=areas&lon=-125.21664&lat=49.28339&zoom=15&opacity=0.66
as it falls before the time of last update near 01h00 UTC.
I am sure you are expecting to see the forest multipolygon rendering, but the ways not closed are still/now preventing this.
hope this is accurate and/or useful...

Hallo,
do you remember this changeset?
It seems one painstakingly-traced restaurant, visible in the aerials, has been deleted by a newbie user who has been mis-interpreting Notes content.
Specifically, way/337114821/history
was deleted based on what I take to be a faulty maps.me Note needing clarification of its actual meaning.
thanks...

m-m-maybe.
until you encounter an #abomination like
osm.org/#map=18/16.42803/103.49939&layers=D
which is just #wrong in so many ways without even considering ground-truth.
or
changeset/61779551#map=18/42.20527/-75.87390&layers=ND
.
this nearby case is no pokémon, but simple mis-tagging that should be corrected, as can be seen from the nearby notes - pre-pokemon beginner error, not deliberate vandalism.
the name including both Reserve and State Park make it clear the osm (city) park is not applicable, and i read a recent DWG statement from Andy Townsend that made it clear where the osm tag does not apply (if you can find the statement, it would be great to link it in the wiki as a definitive reference).

Hoi dikke,
I do not know all the details, but I've recently (within months) read a friendly reminder to either esri or digitalglobe that it would be really nice to deliver the age metadata that was promised, so i don't know if it happens for each provider.
as a potlatch victim, i have had to resort to analysing every background in every area and guessing how old each layer is.
i can say that some places in california, the dg standard is newest yet poorest. i could not form an overview for each Kanton i checked though...
anyway, i think i can mark the note about the poi in this building as resolved, because there seems to be no danger of the building being deleted now.
thanks to all...

There is no mention of unmaintained whatsoever above, so I am unclear how that has entered the conversation, and I need to find an escape from the heat a couple thousand metres lower (who am I kidding, the days are getting shorter and the sun sinks lower)

(finally bothering to log in)
While I have not used it myself, I believe there is a JOSM function or plug-in, Replace Geometry, which from my understanding, would be ideal to preserve the history.
Mostly I read it mentioned for building imports, to preserve original contributors' sloppy mapping credits whilst quickly improving an official outline.
I agree from trying to move TIGER nodes to reflect reality, that to start afresh is far more effective to my standards, than moving every existing node then adding many more.

hola, señor Ant...
I think Michael is trying to point out that the GNIS name of the POI here, neither matches its previous tagging in OSM or - if I understand substation as a Trafo correctly, I may well be wrong - the tagging you have given it.
I would expect the proper term to be generator or similar - disclaimer, I have only casually brushed against such terms so please ignore me.
Ideally one would check the background imagery so such import inconsistencies would be obvious. Apart from a Real Life and battling 40 to 45C temperatures this week, it seems the background imagery IPv6 address at github.io disappeared, along with other IP changes and I can't be arsed to configure an IPv4 tunnel for everyone losing IPv6 connectivity or changing address (I've native IPv6 but not IPv4, long story)
I've gotten distracted. Could be the cheap beer to keep me hydrated in lieu of water or coffee.
In any case, I agree with Michael calling you out here as it seems the original tagging may be inaccurate, and the danger of a mechanical or systematic change is that in order to change these things, you skip the manual review process which might catch apparent mistakes (here based on name only).
I admit to losing the plot during your reply and am happy to be wrong, no hard feelings.
.
Note too that if you feel singled out for mobbing, you should not, or switch to decaf, or both. As I see it, here and in another changeset I have lost track of, you may be addressed because you are familiar as an active participant, so that communication is worthwhile as a two-way street, unlike too much commentary I see which goes nowhere, and reduces me to action without commentary, leaving social interaction to others with more of what I lack (patience, social skills, time), and for which I am grateful.
.
I hope I make some sense and the heat is not getting to me (who am I kidding, growing up with 40C but 95% humidity, while this summer is sooooo dry....)

off-topic, but iD expects a lot more than the three screen updates per second my notwork connection offers. I have edited locally with iD invoked from Opera, but as soon as I pan to a nearby node, forget it.
.
My comment refers to the poisoning of what should be a constructive, coöperative working relationship with new mappers, now turned to distrust or outright - forgive me - hatred for the vandalism of a handful of mappers trying to cheat at Pokémon Go, that extends to any mention of the name or, in this case, Niantic... which fortunately after snidely dismissing the note I resolved, I took a closer look at the area to make this legit change.
This loss of trust, as well as the us-versus-them mentality I'd prefer limited to vandals, is what I regret most. Particularly as a number of Pokémon mappers contribute nowt but positive mappings.
If my instinctive response to any Note mentioning Niantic is as it was here, I would rather retire from mapping, Notes slashing-and-burning, and leave things to more sane, level-headed, and especially patient and tolerant mappers.
For that is what OSM should be.
Amen and all that.

unfortunately, this poi bears source=`google maps' which is a violation of their tos as well as not allowed as an osm source.
therefore i have deleted this poi in order to avoid future problems with rights issues.
if a redaction is required, have at it.
sorry, but the osm terms of use are very clear about this.

Moin moin, Knödel...
Sorry to take this changeset discussion even more off-topic, but it thrills me to encounter another lover of fine music within the cultural wasteland of Open Sorry, thinking of somewhere else.
While I am likely unfamiliar with Neophyte by name, or the 90's when I listened to no music, a day or two ago I heard what to me is the best hardcore since the 1980s. But by now it is probably subcategorised under some other sub-genre.
I was catching up, just barely, with a BBC radio programme that is almost off the 30-day iPlayer. And the playlist therefrom can be found at
https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b0b7hs2d/segments .
.
My problem (well, one of many) is to relate the commentary, which I believe referred to Costa Rica for the melody of interest, to the emotionless playlist. I think it was near the start.
Anyway, you can hear this programme for another day or two, which shows how far behind I am in Real Life for 6Music (the Proms on Radio 3 have so far not raised me from me comfy chair, but they just got started).
Should you need further guidance to a particular Schlager, my gut feeling is that
+ Horror Pain Gore Death Productions.
might be a giveaway.
But I could be wrong.
Nonetheless, if me brane still works, Suisse gets represented later in the programme via Basel.
Should your interest be awakened, note that as I write this rubbish, there are a few days or less to listen and/or download, and should you want details, I will have to dig through my archive.
.
Nonetheless, worth a listen.
.
Disclaimer: This music/programme is not suitable for young children or anyone living. Which counts me out.
