Changeset When Comment

All right, thanks for this. I’ll retag it as broken, then.

164814270 5 months ago

I agree with you, @borishag. Those tags are not necessary. This changeset is a mistake and has been reverted now.

That said, "addr:city" and "addr:postcode" should also be deleted all across Belgium, because we have zones covering the country to provide this information much more reliably.

When cleaning up data, I currently make an exception for AS Watson shops because I understand that you regularly query OSM data and expect to find city name and postcode directly on the nodes instead of doing geoqueries. It would be nice if you could find a way to improve this in the future.

For the enlightenment of those who would wonder what this changeset is about, it looks like it contain two different things.

1. A typo fix (dogs=nodog=no) on a playground in Warsaw (Poland). This part matches the changeset title, and it is a good fix.

2. Drawing about 35 polygons for woods in Colorado (USA).

171037514 5 months ago

Notwithstanding the fact that one changeset per country would have been better, can I also suggest typing real changeset descriptions when you upload data.

"MAJ OSM diverses le 260825" unfortunately provides no useful information about what and why you edited those objects. We can only guess that you claim to have surveyed those 3 remote locations today.

osm.wiki/Good_changeset_comments

By the way, the date is automatically generated in the changeset summary, there is no need to type the date manually in your changeset titles.

Bonjour,

La rue est dans une zone de rencontre. La loi belge implique une vitesse plus basse, 20 km/h avec ce panneau.

Hello,

The outline of the water bodies could be precisely traced from UrbisAdm, which is fairly reliable for those kinds of structures. But it’s probably impossible to do this correctly with the iD editor. Also, official data suggests there is one elongated body of water instead of a few individual ponds.

I will redo your edit.

Hello,

I saw you mechanically removed several instances having "name=Edificio" in the world, because it means "building" in Spanish.

However, for this changeset, I think it was misguided. The node you edited is for a company’s office. Edificio is the true name of that company.

I plan to revert this.

Hello, and welcome to OSM.

Thanks for spotting a missing convenience shop.

Please do not edit building structures for edits like this. A simple floating node inside the building is the recommended way to tag shops.

We fixed your edit here. No further action is expected.

Hello, and welcome to OSM.

Upon adding your own business to the map, you erased an office named "Service du Registre des personnes morales".

I tried to look it up and it seems to be still there, in the same building. There might be a mistake somewhere.

Can you please reply and confirm that "Service du Registre des personnes morales" is no longer here and has been replaced by Wadis. Is it really like that?

## REVERTED CHANGESET
This edit + your subsequent edit 170868902 adding "crossing=yes" have been reverted.

170837089 5 months ago

Hello,

With respect, I think that this edit is wrong.

Traffic lights only apply when pedestrians cross the road (node/3136263647) and the tram tracks (node/4943887040). But once pedestrians have reached the middle part, the intersection with the cycle track has no markings and is beyond the scope of the traffic signals.

Why did you change this?

170779664 5 months ago

Thanks for writing back.

About your other questions now.
All the objects you added today are still in the database, so they will be available for searches.

There are 3 reasons why you won’t see them immediately on the map. (The explanation below might be a little technical, I hope it’s understandable).

1. The map you see on openstreetmap.org is a static image which is recalculated once a day, sometimes more, sometimes less. It takes a little time to see recent changes. On the contrary, when you edit the map, the editing software downloads fresh data and will show everything.

2. Monkey Donkey and the bicycle stands are very close to each other. The software that draws the map will probably make a choice and hide one of them. But it’s not a problem because if people search for something specific they will always find it.

3. The two objects inside the building, Vanessa Colignon (craft=dressmaker) and Design for Resilience (craft=handicraft), are okay but as of 2025 the map layer from osm.org does not provide an icon for places within the "craft" category. Most mobile apps like OsmAnd, Organic Maps or CoMaps correctly show thoses places, they will be visible there, and of course they appear in searches, so people will always find them.

Hello.
Why did you comment on this changeset?
I removed the link to "Velo Antwerpen". Do I understand that you want it back?

170791185 5 months ago

Hello, TommyEnglish,

Please avoid uploading random items in Norway, Spain and Sweden.

You may not be aware of this but when you upload data to the map, your upload is shown as a "bounding box" that is as large as the location of the various objects in it. Since it contains unrelated objects in multiple countries, your change covers most of Europe, which will annoy a lot of mappers.

Next time, please make 3 separate changesets for a change like this.
osm.wiki/Changeset#Geographical_size_of_changesets

Also, the restaurant you added in Krokek is a duplicate of the one you added a few hours earlier. I removed it.

## REVERTED CHANGESET

Thanks for adding your business on the map.

But… please do not use changeset titles for promotional content, this is considered as spam.

Also please do not change the geometry of buildings or add false information (such as building:levels=0, which means that the height of this building is… 0 metres; you also removed the house from the associatedStreet relation for no reason).

Your edit has been redone.

Your business is on the map, as a node inside the building: node/13087044149

Hello, and welcome to OSM.

Thanks for updating a name of a company.

We fixed your edit, to write the name in normal case instead of capital letters.

165501215 5 months ago

Thanks for spotting the issue. Authorities really created a mess here.

A full grid for secondary roads can be achieved when the tunnel reopens.

Until that happens, we can solve this issue by demoting the southern part as tertiary.

Sooner or later, another mapper will start erasing non-existing names.

The "description" tag looks like what you are looking for. If you are building a project that reads OSM data, binding it to this tag would be better.

170394844 5 months ago

Bonjour,

Serait-il possible d'écrire autre chose que « ajout passage feu stop, etc » dans la description svp ?

Vos derniers >200 changesets récents ont ce même titre, qui n'a rien à voir avec le contenu changé.

Merci, amicalement.

Hello,

I am afraid those "names" will have to be deleted.

Names are only for real names. A defibrillator does not have an official name, does it?
