| 161915615 | 11 months ago | Something more: I want to inform you that local mappers are patiently working to create a fully-routable map for pedestrians (among others). Some of us have started reverting some of your changes, like this one where you extended a crossing… to a landuse area, creating impossible routing.

| 161915615 | 11 months ago | Hello, Thanks for the help but beware of mechanical edits. e.g. node/8325922591

| 161711540 | 11 months ago | You didn’t reply to the message. I surveyed it myself tonight to make sure the change was effective. The new street signs are there. |
| 161754531 | 11 months ago | One more thing: "addr:housename" should almost never be used in Belgium, this is a UK-centric tag because in the UK we often have houses that only have a name and no address. Combining "addr:housename" and "name" on a building with the same information makes no sense. |
| 161754531 | 11 months ago | Hello, I think there are some issues here with this changeset. First, if a building have a name, it is better to keep the address on a node, that way we can guarantee proper rendering of both the name and the house number. If you merge them, only the name will be rendered on most maps. Most importantly: it looks like possible data corruption here. You changed some addresses like 19A, 19B, 19C…, into 19, 19, 19 with units A, B, C…
I suspect this is wrong because by doing so you are creating duplicate entries for house numbers. I suspect you inadverently typed the letter in the small text box of iD… but this is only for post boxes appended to addresses (or flat numbers). 19C should stay 19C in the house number field. What do you think? |
| 161711540 | 11 months ago | Hello, Thanks for this and welcome. I had heard about the name change when it was proposed a few months ago but did not know that the change had really occurred now. We’ll take your word for granted that you checked that the new street signs are there. We fixed the Wikidata article, but also all the relations and addresses that had De Bruyn in the name. Don’t worry, everything has been updated now. Have a nice day. |
| 161053186 | 11 months ago | @VDL549: Even though the official GRB map calls it Lindeveldstraat, if you look at this Mapillary picture you can see a sign on one of the houses, and by zooming in you can read Meierij on it.
Ground truth always prevails in OSM.

| 161478291 | 11 months ago | Hello, The official speed limit here is 30 km/h. Your changeset has been reverted.
Please check this picture, which was taken this Thursday: https://www.mapillary.com/app/?pKey=1123343455742104 There is no C43 road sign to mention a 50 km/h speed, therefore the defaultt 30 km/h speed limit of the Brussels-Capital Region applies. | 160803384 | 11 months ago | Hello, I won’t comment on every mistake here but some advise here. Please read the documentation about multipolygons. A multipolygon is a relation to create complicated shapes, by assembling several shapes together. This 1-member multipolygon is incorrect.

| 161620087 | 11 months ago | Hello, "historic=city_gate" is a very specific tag for OSM, and is usually found on former city walls. As far as I can see, there is no such situation here. Can you please confirm this is something you really saw while going there? Did you take pictures or know about documents confirming there is a "city gate" in this neighbourhood? Aerial imagery suggests there might be some kind of "gate" but probably a more common type. Pictures could be of help. Thanks in advance. |
| 161304129 | 11 months ago | Hello, I get your point, but now that cashless shops are becoming increasingly common, relying on a default value ("If this tag is missing, I should expect that I can pay with cash there") is probably not as reliable as it was before. Most shops refuse the largest bank notes anyway, I don’t think that this should be a reason to hide that they accept the most common cash denominations. Perhaps that adding tags such as "payment:coins=0.05€;0.10€;0.20€;0.50€;1€;2€" + "payment:notes=5€;10€;20€;50€" would make everyone happy here. |
| 161303668 | 11 months ago | Hello, Nice edit, but the way you fill note tags looks a bit strange. As long as the note key is set, you do not have to repeat the "note=" part inside the value, because it shows up like this: note=note=Vooroever aangelegd als ecologische oever Hope this helps. |
| 161285830 | 12 months ago | Hello, Despite the content of the changes look okay, we strongly suggest that you do not edit multiple places at once. This changeset contains changes in Algeria and in Belgium. We are writing this message to you because you uploaded everything in a single changeset, which shows as a giant bounding box spanning over several countries. Next time, please work on one place and then upload your changes. Only when this is done, you can start working on the other place. |
| 161234072 | 12 months ago | Hello, AFAIK, De Lijn does not operate bicycle stands in other Belgian regions. Those stands are visible here, they are not the usual model De Lijn uses.
If your intention is to dump all the errors in the velopark dataset into OSM, please don’t. Those imports are particularly discouraging for local mappers who must now spend time repairing all the mistakes. Here is a small list of changesets with repairs:

| 161162081 | 12 months ago | Welcome back! First edit after 13 years, cool! Just one thing. We prefer not to delete shops when they close. Instead, retag them as an empty shop, so that we keep the history of how places changed with time. We fixed this one. |
| 161150712 | 12 months ago | Thanks for adding data. Please observe that URL in OpenStreetMap must be a full address, not just a domain name. Therefore, https://simonis242.be/ and not just simonis242.be, otherwise the link won’t work. We fixed your latest edits. |
| 161104408 | 12 months ago | Hello, "source=aerial imagery" seems very unlikely when adding details like the capacity of several dozens bicycle parkings at once. It looks like you are importing a database into OSM. Would you please tell us where this data comes from. We may not import *any* data on the internet, only data with an ODbL-compatible licence is allowed here. We would be very grateful if you could share information about the source of this data. Thanks in advance. |
| 161091695 | 12 months ago | The online editor (iD) also has built-in support for this imagery. Scroll down to the list of backgrounds to see the available choices. |
| 161091695 | 12 months ago | Hello, Thanks for adding houses. Please be aware that in most European countries we never trace buildings on… aerial images. Governments provide accurate numerical imagery, which we use for buildings. In the Brussels-Capital Region, buildings are derived from UrbIS. We fixed your edit. |
| 161085583 | 12 months ago | Hello, Just to be sure: your changeset description speaks about a restriction for motor traffic. Yet, you applied the one-way restriction to every road user, including cyclists. Shouldn’t "oneway:bicycle=no" apply here? |
