Hi and thanks for this.

Could you please have a second look at this way:
way/118769675/history/21

*:backward and *:forward speeds are both set as 30 kph, while those tags seem to contradict this.
source:maxspeed:backward=BE-BRU:urban
source:maxspeed:forward=sign

So, is it maxspeed:forward=50 here?

Beste,
Bestaat er een uitzondering voor fietsers hier?

Names are expected to have a source.

The licence of Wikipedia sadly does not allow to massively take their data onto OSM, it is required to have at least a reputable secondary source. In any case, never create translations yourself. ;-)

Have a nice day.

Hello and welcome to OSM.

Pardon my curiosity but would you please be so kind and inform us about the process you are following to establish that a translation should be added to OSM.

Are those names official? Where have they been validated? For this point and other translations you have been changing today.

Thanks in advance.

Hello,

This comment would have been preferably left on the note where the problem was discussed instead of here. Reference to the note was provided in the source of the changeset.

However, to me it looks like the request in the note was correct, and the part built in 1930 by architects Michel Polak and René Théry is only the old part (a square).

So, if Electrobel HQ applies to the whole building, an elegant solution might be to only move the wikidata and wikipedia tag to the whole building structure, while retaining the architect/start_date/url tags to way/1245227930.

Hello,

Even if I am grateful to you for writing a description of your change, I think there is a mistake here.

This name has already been discussed in the past—had you inspected the history of the node prior to changing it, you would have seen this—and "Meise" is the official spelling in both languages nowadays. "Meysse" is a former spelling that is no longer used nowadays, despite there is an "Avenue de Meysse" in Brussels.
See this: https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Meise

Hello,

Can I please suggest you turn off the quests about missing addresses in StreetComplete when you are mapping in Brussels.

All addresses in the Brussels-Capital Region are already on the map. There is a strange feature in StreetComplete, which incorrectly assumes that any building of a significant size must have a housenumber, but they are wrong.

Before this bug is solved, we would like to encourage users *not* to answer those quests, especially not providing addresses that are already on the database. Those duplicates just corrupt the database and take time to repair.

Thanks in advance. Have a nice day.

The object you tried to select is here: way/966853028

It is a "play forest". Not the same as a playground, it is a part of the forest that gets special legal status.

147331789 almost 2 years ago

Hello,

As a general rule, all addresses in Brussels are already on the map and should not be added. (Only rare cases with new buildings which we wouldn’t have spotted yet are an exception.)

I would recommend that you ignore or turn off the quests about "missing addresses". Those are turned out by default but if you use the app in Brussels they are not necessary.

Those quests pushed you into entering addresses, which turned out to be duplicate of existing addresses. This was a problem because a building had been drawn incorrectly in the past. We can fix problems if you report problems, but not if you create duplicate housenumbers: that just corrupts the database and it is very hard to spot.

Apart from that, your other changes in StreetComplete look okay.

Have a nice day.

Hello,

Thanks for this, but… beware: adding information into OSM may only come from our own surveys or public sources with an ODbL-compatible licence. Deriving information from a website such as HappyCow is not allowed.
https://www.happycow.net/terms-of-use → This violates their terms of service and could get OSM in legal trouble.

Hello,

Thanks for this but it will be appreciated if you could please provide an explanation about the changeset when you are uploading data into OSM. Not just "France" and leaving up to everyone else what you had been doing. Same for all your other 1-word changeset titles of the last hours ("Africa", "Roma", "Malta"…)
osm.wiki/Good_changeset_comments

If I understand correctly, you are adding alternate translations in Japanese to existing territories.

In this changeset, you added alt_name:ja, name:ja-Hira, official_name:ja and short_name:ja.

Have a nice day.

Hello,

We put the name on the footway across the building. The building itself does not have a name.

147179039 almost 2 years ago

Yummy Food was already on the map, we removed your duplicate. (Organic Maps use offline OSM data, please make sure to update your data source regularly.)

Portuguese restaurant had bad tags (you typed a mobile phone number in the operator field, for instance). We fixed it.

Also, "Technopolice" accounts have been created for a very specific purpose. You may be interested to create your own account for stuff like adding shops or restaurants because it is unnecessarily confusing to see Technopolice dealing with that now.

Have a nice day.

All right. In that case, mapping it as a separate area is the best option, so that it can be extended later to include more buildings.
Here it is:

Thanks for writing back.

There are 3 possible ways to map a school: either you create a single node which represents the school, or you reuse an existing building—that is only if the school is just that building and nothing more—or you draw a perimeter all around the school premises (it includes the school but also the schoolyard, gardens, etc.); a good example is here: way/32974723

Hello,

Thanks for wanting to improve schools. I am writing to you because I am afraid there might be a few issues here.

In your changeset description, you are talking about a single school, but you modified 3 different schools, all at once.

Also, way/397937158/history: in version #2 it was properly tagged as a school. You created a version #3 and removed amenity=school to replace it with area=yes. As a consequence, now this school has disappeared from the map. Is this a mistake?

Please reply below this message, so that we’ll discuss how to fix this.

Thanks for reaching out. Apologies for the harsh tone, I realize it was not fair, especially since most of the blame is actually directed at the iD editor (the Javascript editor behind the "Edit" button on osm.org), which encourages bad mapping practices.

I will reply to the other message you sent me and send some guidance about cases like this. I admit that this one is already a complicated case, it’s not easy to get it right.

Have a nice day.

Hello,

There is a long taxi station all over this street. Why did you erase it?

Check out pictures taken this morning, it is still there, of course.

Hello,
Do you still remember whether this charging station was on the left or right side of the road?
node/11585729482
I am asking because the node has been drawn in the middle of the road and I cannot determine in what direction to move it.
Thanks.

No problem, we are happy to help. As you can see, we have a complete Mapillary coverage of our region taken in 2022-2023 and that helps us a lot.
Your other contributions were fine and appreciated.
