Hello,

Thanks for spotting the optometris is not here anymore.

Next time, if a shop is gone, please change its tags and make it a vacant shop. Do not delete the entire place because that would lose its entire history. (We fixed this one, you don’t have to do it.)

Bonjour,

Pour vos prochains changements, pourriez-vous écrire un descriptif des changements plus complet, svp.

Vos 4 éditions jusqu'ici disent : "test", "test", "go", "go". C’est amusant mais il est mieux de dire vraiment ce que vous essayez de faire sur la carte, ça nous permet de vérifier et de vous conseiller s'il y a des problèmes.

Merci ;-)

Hello,
I redid the tram and bus platforms you moved by mistake, and also for your other edit near the railway station. Again, please try to stick to existing geometries, do not create additional points on public transport platforms. We need to ensure we have correct data at all times, because some apps rely on this.
Have a nice day.

Hello,

Thanks for this.
You might have noticed there was already a node here, tagged as "disused:shop". This is the node with the former shop. We don’t delete shops when they leave, so that they can be reused later. It helps a lot, e.g. to build queries to visualise the history of how a shopping street changed over the years.

I erased your newly-created node for Jacq’s Toastery and transferred its tags to the existing one:
node/6377569696/history

Hello,

Normally, StreetComplete never asks about whether pedestrian-only streets have cycleways. Adding those tags does not make sense.

I suspect it is an unwanted side-effet of their new cycleway overlay…

Hello,

Thanks for this but we had to do a little cleanup here.

I know the iD editor shows many text boxes but it does not mean you have to fill all of them. For instance, in Belgium (and many other countries) we should never fill the postcode and city.
One should never add "1070 Anderlecht" manually for every single POI in Anderlecht, the system already does this automatically because it is aware of municipalities’ boundaries.

Filling the "operator" tag is usually expected for large brands. For small businesses such as Hair Dynasty, which probably has one single hair salon, there is no need to say they are the operator for themselves.

I thought you might be interested to know this, it will save time for your next contributions.

Hello,

I don’t know if you’ve mailed the mapper who restored the road but perhaps you might want to comment on his changeset to explain the situation, otherwise it might escalate into a never-ending war.

That being said, we have many cases like this one and it’s not a problem to have them as "highway=path" as long as access tags are properly set to no. In my opinion, version 3 of this object was correctly tagged. Paths tagged with a lifetime prefix such as disused:* will not be rendered and this might encourage people to add them again and again. Also, having them visible on the map is useful because people do see them upon walking/cycling there. "access=no" is essential to have them rendered in another colour and be excluded from all routing searches.

Have a nice day.

AFAIK, copyright infrigement will be for any part of a dataset, i.e. not just the location but also the properties of each station (socket type, etc.).

Some providers use a "copyright trap" technique for the location, i.e. providing a very accurate location, sometimes with very recognisable digits at the end, making it easy to spot whether it was copied, but they might want to sue even if the location is different, because they know that the smartest "data thieves" would randomise a few digits to make it appear not to have been copied directly. ;-)

Don’t let this frighten you, I guess the risk is primarily if they find out that *several* points of their database have been copied verbatim, i.e. also the tags.

Hello,

Thanks for adding the point.

Next time, please do not copy data from the energydrive.brussels website, as their terms of service explicitely prohibit taking data from their website to feed other databases (https://www.energydrive.brussels/en/disclaimer)
They really want their data for themselves and refuse to share it with the OSM community. As a consequence we’ll have to survey each station one by one. (Should there be a mistake in their database and should they find the same mistake on OSM, that would be evidence that data was illegally copied.) For this station here, we will consider it is okay because a user went there and provided a picture.

Also, no addresses on points, please. Addresses is only for houses/shops/companies…, not for devices. (Also, next time you put an address for something, only the street name and the number, we should never fill postcodes and town names in Belgium, as those are automatically computed).

Have a nice day.

It’s all right, nobody has to know everything.

Hello,

Why horse=destination, please?

In case the situation is a C3 roadsign (no entry) + additional sign stating "plaatselijk verkeer/circulation locale", then we follow article 2.47 of the Belgian traffic rules (destination traffic but cyclists and horse riders are given a blanket permission to ignore the restriction).

Any special sign here?

130265127 about 3 years ago

Hello,

Last time we checked, the "20" kph roadsigns that used to be there in the past were gone.

https://www.mapillary.com/app/?pKey=182579504139360
https://www.mapillary.com/app/?pKey=1112341149696919

You cannot change the maxspeed of a road like this, without adjusting other relevant tags. There is a discrepancy in the database if you keep the urban default limit with maxspeed=20.

I will try to fix it but please answer the two following questions:

1) Are there signs with a 20-kph speed limit on this alley? Did you see them with your own eyes recently?

2) Is it the C43 road sign (red circle with "20" inside) [like this: osm.wiki/File:Belgian_traffic_sign_C43_70.svg]?
Or is it F12a (rue résidentielle/woonerf) [like this: osm.wiki/File:Belgian_road_sign_F12a.svg]?

Thanks in advance.

Hello,

Thanks for adding this house. I fixed the building outline: in the Brussels-Capital Region we use correct building outlines provided by UrbIS.
In the online editor you can find this layer by scrolling down to UrbisAdm FR/NL on the list of backgrounds. Please never trace buildings on aerial imagery because that would make buildings have all sorts of funny shapes.
Hope this helps.

(I fixed this one.)

Thanks for the explanation.
I will fix the tags here.
Have a nice day.

Hello,
Thanks but we fixed the Dutch spelling of the name, as stated on the municipality’s website.
Merci mais nous avons corrigé l'orthographe du néerlandais, comme sur le site de la commune :
Théâtre Mercelis - Mercelistheater

Hello,

Welcome to OSM.

I am afraid we had to undo your changes.
"construction" tags are to be used for new lines, not for renewal of existing infrastructure, because it has consequences on existing route relations using the tracks, which are already on the map.
We recommend you do not touch public transport infrastructure until you gain enough experience with the OSM data model.

Hello and welcome to OSM.

You added Thảo béo in the middle of a road. This seems quite unlikely and looks really weird on the map. If you know the area, I suggest you you move the point to the correct side.

130153898 about 3 years ago

Hello,

I am afraid you are using the wrong tags, this is causing trouble on the map. (amenity=education was a vague tag, we no longer use it and it will be ignored by most renderers.)

I can fix it but I need your help to know what we have here. Is it this? https://www.kumon.com/ What kind of activity do they have in this building? (Is it like a school? Or is it only their main office with no classes being taught here?)

Thanks in advance.

Hello,

Is there really a full-size clinic here? The entire house is a clinic? It looks very unlikely.

I bet you wanted to add a doctor’s office instead, didn’t you? Probably a single doctor’s office inside an ordinary house.

In that case, here is the correct way to do it:
* add a single point somewhere inside the building
* amenity=doctor + healthcare = doctor
* name is the doctor’s name (without the "Dr." part)
* you can add some details like phone number, website, opening hours if you know them (don’t bother too much if you don’t)
* no need to add the address (the node is automatically recognised with the same address as the building)
* and of course, undo this edit, i.e. remove the clinic-related tags on the house.

Hope this helps.
