| 140579866 | over 2 years ago | Oh, not a rules matter. :) The code isn't part of the name - nobody calls it "car park 0877" or similar. The tag ref=* is used for reference numbers, e.g. M7 or R153 on roads. On objects that have reference numbers that seem to be out of place or where there is a conflict, then secondary ref tags are used, .e.g. ref:bridge=UBB999 for a railway bridge reference number, as that number will be different to the road reference number. In this case ref:carpark=0877 might suit or use note=* and explain what it is about. |
| 140579866 | over 2 years ago | Hi, Could I ask what "Kildare Train Station (code: 0877)" means? |
| 139959224 | over 2 years ago | Yes, I suppose it is about representing things, not being absolutely precise. Interesting that busways don't show in the standard view. |
| 139959224 | over 2 years ago | Hi, This is awkward as a highway=busway, as there are farm access tracks off it. Thoughts? |
| 139630685 | over 2 years ago | I'd have no problem calling a courier depot a post_depot. But if it is just a generic transport company that transports large loads (which may included part loads), then I would call it a warehouse (maybe with office=*) |
| 139630685 | over 2 years ago | Hi, Several post depots here. Cold Move Logistics Solutions sounds more like cold storage and bulk deliveries than somewhere that sorts individual packages. |
| 131142792 | over 2 years ago | Hi, relation/7252403
These look like the remnant of a previous version of the wood. Can they be deleted? |
| 88443898 | over 2 years ago | Hi, https://overpass-turbo.eu/s/1yD2 There are about 6 boundaries that have Midleton spelled Middleton - with an (understandable) extra 'd'. Am I safe to remove this? |
| 110456011 | over 2 years ago | Hi, You might check if height=0.001 is appropriate if the building parts have heights allocated. Note: https://demo.f4map.com/#lat=54.5801891&lon=-5.9361662&zoom=19&camera.phi=64.218 |
| 83219289 | over 2 years ago | Hi, height=Sanaigmore seems incorrect. :) |
| 36920361 | over 2 years ago | Hi, field_4=55.181928
field_4 and field_5 seem to be location. Any idea what field 6 is? |
| 115105648 | over 2 years ago | Hi, name="U Hansfield" seems exotic. :) |
| 119926967 | over 2 years ago | Ooops! Do you have a diagnostic tool for telecoms? |
| 130797759 | over 2 years ago | Hi, Just checking, are you sure this section of road is one-way? |
| 110423404 | over 2 years ago | Hi, way/977588965 Are you sure this is a emergency=lifeboat_station A quick search doesn't find a Loughshinny life boat. |
| 131971924 | over 2 years ago | Hi, Reservoirs like this (over-sized tanks, typically semi-underground) are man_made=reservoir_covered The tag water = reservoir is reserved(!) for reservoirs like this: way/38526474 :) |
| 136022009 | over 2 years ago | Yes, I thought the same earlier. |
| 136022009 | over 2 years ago | Generally, the consensus seems to be the fewer tags the better, especially when it comes to access permissions. For example, oneway=no generally isn't used, unless it is the likes of a single-carriageway motorway (where you would normally expect it to be oneway). Importantly, in the OSM Standard View, the footpath changes from red to dark grey, which would make people think the footpath isn't accessible. |
| 136022009 | over 2 years ago | Hi, In light of this discussion: https://community.openstreetmap.org/t/access-no-foot-designated-on-highway-footway-should-it-be-reverted/101907 I'm wondering is this is over-tagged with: access=no
highway=footway already means it is designated for pedestrians, to the exclusion of other means. access=no risks some routing software ignoring it completely. |
| 134390960 | over 2 years ago | Hi, You seem to have tagged some roads as motorroad=yes. This has a specific meaning that pedestrians and cyclists can't use the road. It likely applies to the likes of the Jack Lynch Tunnel, but it doesn't apply to city streets.
