Then wouldn’t something like toll:sunpass=yes or toll:sunpass=designated be more appropriate?

145996443 almost 2 years ago

Also, shouldn’t the through lanes have hov=designated on them?

145996443 almost 2 years ago

What is the source for the new name for “State Road 821 Access Road”?

Wrong comment, it was supposed to be:

Updated alignment of highway link such that the turn lane tagging is better represented as it is

Why did you delete that track, it seems to be there on the bing imagery

Again I would really like to know when you made those tagging changes as per the above comment I left.

Question, why are there so many vertex deletions along the coast lines?

145539922 almost 2 years ago

Can you please respond, I would really like if you could respond about the second point in the above comment.

145433979 almost 2 years ago

Looking at the video linked in the change set comment it seams the from way way/87553350 to node node/11417293763 on way way/38840376 it is closed and under construction since that seems to correspond to the part of the highway shown in red in the video. So to me that implies it should be tagged as such.

A few notes here:
It seams you just removed all the bicycle=designated and bicycle=yes but left the segregated=no which together mean that the you can ride your bike down that sidewalk/footpath but there is no segregation between the normal pedestrian and bike traffic, segregated=no means nothing without bicycle=designated and bicycle=yes. As a note I see no reason to remove those tags in the first place, so the question becomes why did you do so, because from my understanding those tags should stay, so please add them back.

The second point is that in one of the residential areas you changed the access on a foot path from motor_vehicle=no to motor_vehicle=private which would imply that private vehicles are allowed on that pedestrian foot path, this seems illogical thus I assume this is a mistake, please fix this, also I assume in that same residential area horses are not allowed so horse=private should be brought back to horse=no .

In general please stop removing bicycle=yes from public sidewalks and other footpaths.

Wouldn’t that mean that ways such as way/992722249 would now need to be tagged using the construction tagging?

145208659 about 2 years ago

again busses are the only form of traffic allowed on these ways so this commit is incorrect

145208698 about 2 years ago

this is incorrect, busses are the only vehicles aloud on ways
way/807636696
way/807656900
way/807636695
so they are busways.

Follow up, I didn’t check the stuff in Colombia but the stuff up north when I zoomed in on a way this individual added in this commit and the other commit by this user and went into iD none of the imagery showed and lakes, rivers, roads etc were this user added them or on any part of the island, so it seams like at least some of this is vandalism unless allot has happened since the satellite imagery last updated. What makes it even more suspect is the fact that allot of the names are just descriptors like big lake etc. and and amusement park which I doubt would exists that far north.

145161936 about 2 years ago

By looking at the ways touched by this commit it seams like the user made some edits in Colombia, then made some edits on Brock Island without committing between doing changes to the two areas. I doubt that they have local knowledge in Brock Island due to the fact that they added a lake ( way/1231443750 ) called lago grandis which seems to be in Spanish which while possible I doubt that a lake in Canada would have a Spanish name. Also because of the aforementioned ways name it seems they may have just called it big lake which I also doubt is the actual name. This is just speculation so take this with a grain of salt, someone with local knowledge of Brock island should check that if at all possible.

Question?
Why did you change the name of most of the name:*=* when according to the change set comment you should only have added/edited the name:chr (from my understanding that’s the code for cherokee) it seams unless you know, in some cases somewhere around 60 ' odd languages. Also I’m sure there’s a good reason the Bahamas is called the Bahamas, I ask because you seem to have changed the name:en from “The Bahamas” to “Bahamas”.

Next please try and keep your changes sets geographic area down by committing changes to one area (a part of town etc) before you move on and make changes to another. This makes it easier to review change sets and leads to less clutter on the history view on the OSM website. Have a wonderful day.

also ways:
way/38840050/
and
way/38840051/
seem to not be there on what imagery we do have in iD.

145100791 about 2 years ago

I was wondering if you could also check your sources and see if the following ways are still under construction:
way/49238754
way/943857975/
way/1228196958/
way/1228196959/
way/1228196957
. I wouldn't normally ask, its just that all the sources we have on the default instance of iD are out dated enough that I am not sure what completed and what isnt along with the status of all the construction and cannot currently survey their statuses currently so I was wondering if your sources (which seem to be relatively more up to date then those I have access to) showed anything different there or changes to roadway geometries that I cannot yet tell from the sources I have access to. again sorry for the random comment, I have no issue with this commit at all I was just hopping that a similar commit expanding the data on the other side of Delphine Expressway could also be done, I'm just asking for some help from a fellow mapper.

but from my understanding the previous tagging seems to be the best we have so it shoulnt have been removed, there will not always be a tag or set of tags that 100% correctly describes a feature but amenity=* , office=* etc. tagging is always necessary otherwise the data is useless due data consumers not being able to use it.
this seems to be a honest mistake/misunderstanding of tagging norms in OSM. I am going to bring it back to what it was previously.
