| software for Sony Ericsson W300i | If you wish to convert between gpx and kml, I'd recommend you try out gpsbabel. It runs on win / lin / mac.

| Sydney Mapping Party weekend before FOSS4G | Lovely, I should be able to attend :)
| Helmet Camera | What brand / model is the camera?
I'm really interested in it :) |
| Calibrating voice recorder | That's a great idea, I should do this for my digital voice recorder - it'd make surveying by bicycle a lot safer than pulling out a camera all the time. I don't think it'd be too hard to figure out how to do audio mapping in JOSM - this'll give me something to do this upcoming weekend :P |
| My first diary entry | What a great idea! Grey nomads would be great for OSM!
Now all I've got to do, is to find a GPS logger that's easy to use (preferably switch on and forget - but some training should be easy enough to do). Thanks for the great idea John :D |
| Nambour Mapping Party | Ah yes,
It gets tricky when you pass several bus stops / emergency telephones on the side of the road all at once!
Good to hear the mapping party ended up going pretty well :) |
| First Entries | Yay! Another OSMer near North Sydney (near my work)
Have fun Polito, and if you've got any enquiries send me a message - we could perhaps even meet up one day. - Rhubarb |
| UK, Scotland, Argyll, Cowal, Dunoon & Benmore Gardens | Good to see all the surface type tags, bridges, and benches being tagged in there - nice work :) |
| I just bought a Royaltek RGM 3800 GPS. | I've actually found that cycling in the rain is sometimes better.
| Equipment and software | GPSbabel is indeed a marvelous application :)
Anyway, have fun surveying with your new garmin unit ceyockey, and don't forget you can put OSM maps on your garmin unit too! :) |
| More Goonellabah Mapping + road collapse | Is that something worth putting on the map?
I quite like adding lots of detail to parks now - right down to rubbish bins :)
It looks like you're exploring quite a bit there too :D |
| Karlsruhe Collection | I think I'll start attacking street numbers after I've exhausted POIs, footpaths, and country roads in OSM. Though it's tempting to put in street numbers in the Cities. - Could be very good for finding those hard to find businesses around the place. |
| Correcting routing problems. | This sounds like it should be a bug to be submitted to mkgmap:
As RichardB writes, it's best not to change the OSM global database to get this to work, as it's ugly and is just a work-around.
- Thanks for pointing this out, as this may well be a bug that's occured with routing for me - though I hadn't had time to try out work out what the bug was. |
| weird goings on in East Lothian | I'm not sure how that happens, but I've requested tiles around the coastline that are clearly wrong to be re-rendered, it should look all nice again in an hour or two from now. You can request tiles to be re-rendered using http://informationfreeway.org/

| Cycle Mapping | Sounds wonderful Ebenezer :)
It should look good on opencyclemap! |
| Navigation software for a PDA - WM2003 | Forgot to give you the link incase you want to grab it:
| Navigation software for a PDA - WM2003 | I used to use VisualGPSce on my old WM2003SE PDA, It's no good for navigiting, but it does a really good job at track logging - it can save it as raw NMEA which gpsbabel can easily convert into GPX for JOSM to use. |
| Country roads around Lismore | The country side looks marvelous there!
Have fun :D |
| Why did I start with Lismore Heights? | I actually prefer tracing from GPS tracks, as I find the yahoo overlay can have some errors, especially on hilly terrain. On some really hilly areas, I've wussed out and drove my car around - with a friend in the passenger seat taking photos of POIs as we go :) |
| Lack of MSIE 6.0 support impeding mapping progress | There's always Portable Firefox, so you can run it off a flash drive rather than having to install it.
