The accuracy only means that your GPS thinks that your current position is somewhere inside a circle with that radius. Where that circle is in relation to your actual position, it does not know!

It is so misleading how software presents those values and I myself only found out about this years after I started using GPS.

Another option for smartphone based tracking would be using a bluetooth GPS receiver. With Android it is a piece of cake to use (I use BlueGPS).

Probier mal Zanavi statt Navit. Das ist ein Fork und soweit ich weiß, kannst du da einige Regeln fürs Rendering machen.

Das geht nicht und es darf nicht gehen. Die Lizenz ist ja dazu da, endlich Rechtssicherheit zu bieten. Nun stell dir mal vor, die Daten werden verbreitet und irgendwann denkt sich jemand "nee, ich will doch nicht". Es wäre unmöglich die Ablehnung rückwirkend in die Daten zu bringen, da diese ja überall in der Welt schon benutzt würden.

Du kannst natürlich diesen Account einfach stilllegen und einen neuen anlegen. Das wäre allerdings eher sinnlos, da der Lizenzwechsel beschlossene Sache ist. :-)

Bist du noch zu überzeugen, dass es alles gut ist oder bist du schon 100% in der Materie und vom Übel überzeugt?

I'd guess it was some spam being uploaded because the website shows no edits of this user. So he probably uploaded a lot, but it got deleted. The script probably only knows he uploaded a lot and then queries for the actual existing amount which is zero after the deletion. My magic crystal ball told me so.

0.8 meters is way too good for a normal handheld. What unit do you use? Be aware that usually that number is only a "internal" accuracy, which means the points you track are inside that range but that range might be off reality. You could manage to get near that accuracy with WAAS/EGNOS.

OSMTracker is fantastic. I was dreaming of a tool like that for a long time. Ever since I got my HTC Desire I have not used the old etrex H again. Currently I track with both simultanously to see how different their tracks end up.

In Germany the government created maps are not free. They cost a lot of money. So OSM empowers me to have a map free of charge (and I can even built upon it, modify it and contribute).
