almost 8 years ago | "Phoenix FBI Building Leaves Prints In The Desert", https://kjzz.org/node/188667 there were several newspaper articles on the building. The KJZZ versions has a bunch of pictures. I did not realize from earlier articles that the windows of the building are DNA markers. The Bing imagery at the time showed the two pools clearly. All of the recent imagery in JOSM have very hard shadows that prevent a clear view of the north side of the building where the pools are. The real question is that J. Edgar Hoover's thumb print? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/J._Edgar_Hoover . I thought that I had some north bound images on 7th street where the address marker is located. There is a thumb print there too. Here's a west to east view of the building https://www.mapillary.com/map/im/QILH0nUDoo0q5dTlxz06yQ .

almost 8 years ago | Oh! Here is some more information on the South Mountain Freeway. The images are interesting along with the schedule.
almost 8 years ago | I added the tags back. I just drove the area again today. The images are still being uploaded. The sound wall has been built. We will have to wait for some more time to pass. It almost looks like this column will take the ramp right through the some of the houses including the relocation of power lines. https://www.mapillary.com/map/im/lkIms45yUG9-PZPpYfssaw I don't know if more houses will be removed after the owners are moved out. Half of the apartment buildings still exists. If you zoom in on this photo, then you can see that the electric meters have been removed. https://www.mapillary.com/map/im/4cE8jsx9ixd8UpIlaII6PA These buildings could be on the way out also.
almost 8 years ago | Welcome to OpenStreetMap. Thank you for you recent change sets. There are some resources that you can consult. One is Mapillary and the other is OpenStreetCam. I think that you might have been too aggressive in your cleanup the South Mountain/I-10 area. I believe that construction has left half of the apartment place and there are still one or two buildings along North 59th Avenue that still exist. Keep up the good work but please remember to check several image sources before removing features. I hope this helps. Send me a message if you have other questions
almost 8 years ago | I removed the highway tag as a conservative first step for the changes to the subdivision. I think part of this subdivision will be removed. I wanted to make sure before adjusting West Belleview Street. I have not been down this way in six months. You can see adot images here https://www.flickr.com/photos/arizonadot/sets/72157681461022065/ raveneye has some Mapillary flyover images of the area and it looks like raveneye took some ground images from 12/2017 https://www.mapillary.com/app/user/raveneye?lat=33.45648499997219&lng=-112.18558166666668&z=18.49488560393603&pKey=QZRLblkXmnU-HPNDJ8qwVA&focus=photo I believe DGDEAGLE change sets as a new user were too aggressive. The road construction left some buildings in the apartment place and along North 59th Avenue.
almost 8 years ago | @ mueschel stop spreading bad information about the Tiger import. I use the data every day.
almost 8 years ago | MMendoza3569 did you draw in a pokemon spawn point? I looked at DigitalGlobe, Esri World Imagery, and Bing imagery. I cannot see Grand Canyon tearing down a new building to put in a lake.
about 8 years ago | Welcome to OSM editing. It is a real art because you have to know when aerial imagery is good to use and when it is not. The primary issue with this change is that you removed the Black Mountain ramps that connect to the AZ 51 highway. Those ramps are visible through gps traces and Mapillary street images. Here is an example image https://www.mapillary.com/app/?lat=33.67242143660337&lng=-112.00188123877524&z=17&pKey=QggZHNf2h3qj2VCBr_Saxw Also note that we are in a building boom again. You have to really pay attention to where the new growth is because it will not match up with Bing. Please think of adding features first and gain some experience before deleting features. I always prefer to modify verses delete. Please also don't let this discourage your new mapping efforts. If there is anything that I can do to help out please send me a message via inbox/outbox feature of the OSM website.
about 8 years ago | Changing a street name for your spam is just not cool. Locate where the business goes and add the business there. Your work will actually be helpful. Otherwise, no so much.
about 8 years ago | compdude, it was an obvious mistake. Is there any reason that you could not fix it if you already noticed the problem?

over 8 years ago | This is part of the chdr google issue. We cannot tell if these names are clean. I am waiting for Frederick to determine how he will redact the google inspired way names. I was hoping to start the correction from this change/way version forward. However, Frederick man remove all name tags. I plan to use chdr_... tag as a search target to fix the name tags with tiger 2015 names. The change set and chdr_.. tag will help me fix my area of mapping.
over 8 years ago | I am not sure what happened here. I was reverting a way that a Russian mapper added in Phoenix.
over 8 years ago | nammala, Thank you for your concern. The remainin part of Pecos Road is a temporary road while they build the north side of the freeway. I carefully removed the sections per survey. Please see the mapillary traces. The problem is that another mapper added the the road back even though it does not exist.
over 8 years ago | in change set 50651988, I left this message, "West Chandler Boulevard is available at 08:30 on 27-July-2017. The portion of the road connecting to West Pecos Road is closed for the South Mountain Freeway construction." You added back a segment of Pecos Road that no longer exists. Please also see Mapillary. There is updated imagery too.
