Question concerning conventions....

Posted by DJ_FoS on 14 September 2008 in English.

I am about to add another section to an existing street, and the dilema is that at the intersection itself it is one way exit onto a main street. But the street itself is two way the whole way along. It is just to prevent people from tying up the main road trying to make a left turn into it. How should I add it to the map? A short one-way stretch and then two way road again? That would break the street into 3 parts--the existing stretch, the intersection stub (it is really only a matter of a few feet in real distance, and then the remainder.

Yes, a short oneway section is the way to do it.

You might consider combining the existing bit and the bit you're adding if there's no real reason for them to be split. But 3 parts to a road is not usual.
