Hi I've added leisure=park to Pages Wood relation so the POI Node: 6538150724 is not needed. The area is mapped so best to describe the area rather than add a POI, POI is removed.

Hi, Welcome to OpenStreetMap.

Does the footpath (Way: 696236676) join to the path close to the eastern end?
Does the footpath (Way: 696236675) join to the path close to the southern end?
If so they need to be amended.

Regards Bernard.

Hi, you were warned by the iD editor when you uploaded this changeset that there were 8 problems, You uploaded without correcting the errors, please see the above (last three boxes).

I can see you've also joined tracks to buildings. I can't find all the errors so it might be best to revert this changeset.

To enable you to easily see/find errors or warnings it's best to only upload a few, 2 or 3 changes at a time. This upload has 49 additions making it difficult to repair. If you can't repair the warned errors do not upload the changes, throw them away and start again. Especially until you become more knowledgeable as to OSM practices.

Hi, Do you know that this is a track or road? It looks more like a river to me. You've also joined the track to the house, does it really join onto the house?

I very much doubt if the building is formally named "Small House" is it.

Everything you add to OSM must be verifiable to other folk, please see :- osm.wiki/Verifiability

Hi Welcome to OpenStreetMap.

Your changeset comment says "House with a possible swimming pool". No available imagery shows anything like a house and a pool. Also if a name is not known you shouldn't tag Unknown as the formal name. The whole addition looks like fiction and should be removed.

Perhaps you were testing OSM, this database is immediately live to the world so it's not a place for testing.

If you need help please just ask.

Hi this theatre is already mapped, the tags are on the building outline. Your new POI is duplication.

Hello and Welcome to OpenStreetMap.

This is not the correct way to add a Ukrainian name to a feature in OSM plus your translation seems to be wrong for Theatre Royal, Drury Lane. Secondly the theatre is already tagged on the building outline so your POI is just a duplication and ought be removed.

Hi, How does the path cross the stream at the south?

Regards Bernard.

Hi, I just wanted to point out that this section of Sturrick Lane is designated as a bridleway (BR) not a by-way (BW). Thus the reference should be prow_ref=Great Bentley BR 2, same as you've tagged the section across the field to the north.

Hello Ian,
You have inadvertently removed the tag highway=footway and added the tag designation=public_footpath, what you've done is removed the status of a highway from the way. The designation tag does not attribute a highway value to the way. For a PRoW you need both tags, highway=footway to indicate the highway classification and designation=public_footpath to indicate the UK highway legal status.

I expect you are walking these paths as the Bing imagery is not neccessarily up to date. It would thus be a great benefit to add any barriers to the way. I can see this path crosses hedges and fences, are there stiles or gates here?

Please note that the access to this path is not private, it's actually designated. Lastly, the footpath designation extends south on the service road to the B1027.

Hi, maybe you don't see these comments. As there's no response I've removed the extra unneeded, untagged nodes.

70882278 over 6 years ago

Hi, I just wanted to let you know that when placing POI, you sometimes inadvertently place an untagged node under the tagged POI node.
In the past I've removed several of these untagged nodes. The latest three I've not removed so you can see what I mean, please see here :- http://tools.geofabrik.de/osmi/?view=geometry&lon=-3.65520&lat=55.73993&zoom=12&overlays=self_intersection_ways,self_intersection_points,single_node_in_way,duplicate_node_in_way

The single untagged nodes indicated (Red Triangle) are at the exact position of your new POI.

Hello and Welcome to OpenStreetMap.

Review as requested, you mapped an area for parking so the tagging would be parking=surface, (a surface area for parking) rather than parking=lane. A parking lane is mapped as a linear feature.

The trees you inadvertently tagged as natural=wood, (a wood contains several trees). The correct tag for a single tree is natural=tree, rendered as a tree symbol.

I've amended the above mentioned problems.

There is a great deal more to OSM mapping than you might first think, there's lots of info available on almost every aspect. Google and Wiki will always help.

If I can help please just ask. Regards Bernard

Hello and Welcome to OpenStreetMap.

Please be assured that this is a right of way, the following information can be ascertained on the Essex PRoW website :-

central asset id: PROW 312_70
parish: Herongate And Ingrave
path number: 70
classification: Bridleway
length: 732
unit: metres
district: Brentwood
parish code: PROW 312

The Essex website is here :- https://www.essexhighways.org/getting-around/public-rights-of-way/prow-interactive-map.aspx

Also the bridleway crosses over a footpath without joining to it.

Hi there,

It is not allowed to use Google in any way in order to contribute to OSM because of copyright issues. It would be best to revert/remove everything that was added by looking at Google. Please see this link, scroll down to Copyright Infringement :- osm.org/copyright

I have reverted the changes that I made to the additions you made because I'm not happy with the knowledge I now have.

If you decide to revert and need help please just ask.

Hello and Welcome to OpenStreetMap.

Sorry to say that your tagging of the sport features is mostly meaningless to OSM. The white lines ought not be mapped at all as there is no tag for them at all. Please see these links for typical sport feature tagging :- sport=*
leisure=pitch

Hello and Welcome to OpenStreetMap.

I started editing some of your contributions and thought them a long way off the imagery. Looking further I realise you are using the Bing imagery layer which here is way out of date. Please look at the Maxar imagery layer and hopefully see a huge difference.

Imagery can be changed in the iD editor by clicking open the background settings (on the right) then select Maxar.

Hi,
Are there really 5 roof levels to the building? Also is the roof really flat? If it is as you've tagged it how do you come by the evidence of this?

Regards Bernard.

Hi, Welcome to OpenStreetMap.

Your POI as tagged is meaningless to OSM, especially as it is positioned in a back garden with no access to it.

While OSM is not a place for spam advertising, genuine businesses are welcome. That is providing that they are verifiable and correctly described with appropriate tags.

I have removed this POI. If you wish help in correctly adding a business POI please just ask.

Regards Bernard.
