Ok, I added a few buildings. It’s always nice to have someone on the ground adding shops, road names and addresses. I like to add hiking trails highway=path.

I took a look at your area and the mapping looks very nice. I noticed that you are using the id editor with Bing imagery. The “DigitalGlobe Premium Imagery” is much sharper. You’ll find it in the layers icon on the right, 2nd item in the “Background” list. See this image

Nice tip. You got me to start looking at the various overlays in Vespucci (my favorite app). I solved the “under fingers” problem by buying a stylus pen. Works great. Thanks for posting your experience.

I see myself in your diary entry. I hope you continue to enjoy mapping as much as I do.

I’d like to learn how to use tools to compare my little corner of the world with shape files I can get from my town GIS guy.

I’m using Vespucci for android. It allows me to take pictures and create a track. I can also make all my edits using the app. This is important because I’m traveling in areas where there’s no cellular coverage.

There’s nothing nicer than seeing the map look better and better. I live in New England where we have millions of miles of stone walls. Some day I’ll think on a nice style to represent them.

I’m really glad you posted this summary. A closer community of mappers in Massachusetts would be really nice.

This year I heard about the OSM birthday party being organized nearby and attended. It was great to chat with other mappers. Next year I will be encouraging all local more folks to attend.
