A roof shape that represents one (vertical) half of a dome.
How to map
Add the tag roof:shape=half-dome to the building outline. It is typically used on building=* or building:part=*, often for apses in church architecture.
The orientation of the roof is determined automatically based on the geometry of the building outline. The flat vertical face of the half-dome is aligned with the longest side of the base outline, with the dome's apex located above the midpoint of that side.
Tags to use in combination
roof:height=*- for the height of the roof (the radius of the original dome).roof:colour=*- to specify the roof's colour.
The tags roof:direction=* and roof:orientation=* are not used as the orientation is determined by the building's geometry.
Examples
This roof shape is frequently used for apses in Ancient Roman and traditional church architecture, and in mosques and iwans in Islamic architecture, as well as in other historic buildings.
