A roof shape of a semi-circular or polygonal apse, which terminates a building with a gabled roof, similar to a half of a cone or a pyramid. Most often can be seen in church architecture.
How to map
Add the tag roof:shape=apse_gabled to the building outline. It is typically used on building=* or building:part=*.
The orientation of the roof is determined automatically based on the geometry of the building outline. The flat vertical face of the roof is aligned with the longest side of the base outline, with the apex located above the midpoint of that side.
Tags to use in combination
roof:height=*- for the height of the roof.roof:colour=*- to specify the roof's colour.
The tag roof:direction=* is generally not needed as the orientation is determined by the building's geometry.
Examples
A common use case is for churches, where the main nave has a gabled roof and the chancel terminates in a semi-circular apse.
