Tagging operators for trees and orchard meadows
As Key:operator suggests, an operator is an entity who is directly in charge of an object.
In the case of meadow orchards, to express that an association is in charge of pruning, planting of new trees, etc., the operator=* seems the best fit.
We just need to bend our language use about what it means to operate a tree, however the same would be true about information=board, where the use of operator=* is very common.
owner=* is clearly not correct, as the trees and soil are usually communal property or are leased from private owners.
maintainer=* barely doesn't exist, and there is also no need for that, as it would duplicate the role of operator=*.
Expressing the most precise available Wikidata link
The Key:genus:wikidata article suggests that in the world of plants, if the most specific taxon level is not justified to have a Wikidata ID, then a higher order parent taxon is linked. In the same way, it would be nice to have the ability to tag the most specific wikidata ID which represents the type of the operator.
In the case of a specific Obst- und Gartenbauverein, tagging Q15837319 (Obst- und Gartenbauverein) could be beneficial.
However, as the operator:type=* is usually a broader category, such as government or charity, it feels like the specificy of tagging operator:type=Obst- und Gartenbauverein would not be in the intention of this attribute. If that was the case, operator:type:wikidata=Q15837319 would serve the purpose.
