Proposal

Introduce the tag amenity=smart_locker to identify automated, multi-purpose lockers used for:

• **Parcel pickup/drop-off** (e.g., Amazon Hub, DHL Packstation)
• **Luggage storage** (hotels, airports, train stations)
• **Hotel guest services** (e.g., early/late luggage storage)
• **Other connected services** (key exchange, retail returns)

This distinguishes them from single-purpose tags like amenity=parcel_locker or tourism=luggage_locker.

Rationale

Modern lockers often serve multiple functions (e.g., a hotel locker accepting both guest luggage and courier parcels). Current tagging is fragmented:

• amenity=parcel_locker implies only parcels.
• tourism=luggage_locker excludes parcels.
• No tag exists for hybrid/commercial systems.

"Smart" emphasizes electronic features (apps, IoT, payment systems), making it future-proof.
