Introduction

In the United States, EV charging is often referred to by either it's key brand=* or it's key network=* affiliation. Often times, these 2 are synonymous, however this is not always the case, especially in instances such as [W]ChargePoint where they sometimes serve as an key operator=* with custom key brand=* and sometimes as simply the key manufacturer=* of the node man_made=charge_point (or dispensers) that make up a nodeway amenity=charging_station. This page will provide details and OSM tagging for common brands and networks in the United States, some of which can be found in the United States Department of Energy's Alternative Fuel Data Center documentation. Please refer to the OSM Wiki page United States AFDC Manual Sync Project for updates on ongoing syncing with this database.
