History
Ujungjaya is a village located in the Sumur District, Pandeglang Regency, Banten Province, Indonesia. It is situated in the southwestern corner of the Ujung Kulon Peninsula. The village directly borders two areas of the Ujung Kulon National Park Conservation Area: East Mount Honje and South Cilintang Beach. To the north, it shares a boundary with Tamanjaya Village, while to the west it is bordered by the Sunda Strait.[1]
Originally, Tamanjaya and Ujungjaya were part of the Cigorondong area. In 1967, administrative restructuring led to the separation of Tamanjaya from Cigorondong. Later, in 1984, Ujungjaya was separated from Tamanjaya following advocacy by local community leaders. The Cibaliung sub-district administration officially named the newly formed area "Ujungjaya Village," with a total area of 844.4 hectares, comprising 13 hamlets.
Today, Ujungjaya Village is divided into several hamlets, namely: Tamanjaya Girang, Babakan, Kiara Gondok, Cikawung Sempur, Cikawung Lio, Cikawung, Peuteuy, Gadog, Salam, Pangkalan, Cikawung Sabrang, Legon Pakis, and Tanjung Lame.
