Is `{{{info|{{{4|{{{info|''info''}}}}}}}}}` superfluous?

To me that reads as: Get the 'info' parameter value; if it's not provided get the 4th parameter value; if it's not provided get the 'info' parameter value (again?); if it's not provided display the word 'info' in italics.

Why check for the 'info' parameter value twice?

Could this be simplified to: `{{{info|{{{4|''info''}}}}}}`?
