Too wide

Although pretty, this is way too wide.

Try this thing: http://browsersize.googlelabs.com/ ...it shows that less than 20% of the web browsing population will be able to fit this menu on their screen!

We need to reduce the number of options, the image size, or make them float.

Feel free to do so, I just started with the old icons (which aren't that nice) and would recommend smaller and more sexy icons as well --!i! This user is member of the wiki team of OSM 10:42, 23 February 2012 (UTC)
I think they're quite nice. A bit old perhaps (in the case of the old osmarender graphic and the logos), but the main problem is they're not designed as small icons to fit side-by-side. Maybe we could do this as a vertical side menu instead, floating to the right. -- Harry Wood 12:26, 23 February 2012 (UTC)

Removing images

I propose to remove images. They take a lot of space and look silly IMHO Mateusz Konieczny (talk) 18:26, 24 June 2018 (UTC)

For a draft without icons or images see Template:Sandbox (permalink). --Chris2map (talk) 17:57, 9 November 2025 (UTC)

Replaced icon for copyright reasons

@Something B: Could you explain what "copyright reasons" do you mean? Special:Diff/2917002 - File:Icon projects.png --Chris2map (talk) 17:33, 9 November 2025 (UTC)

File:Icon projects.png was without attribution, but I fixed it later. So old icon is OK now and I can revert this change, although new icon seems more logical to me. Something B (talk) 17:40, 9 November 2025 (UTC)
OK, yes I agree but it breaks the layout design so I would go with the old one for now. --Chris2map (talk) 17:55, 9 November 2025 (UTC)
