Template:Superseded image/doc

This is a documentation subpage for Template:Superseded image.
It contains usage information, categories and other content or metadata that is not part of the original template.

A template directing editors to use a better image in OSM Wiki articles and other pages instead of a particular image.

Usage

{{Superseded image|<file name of the better image>|<reason why the other file should be used, "No reason given" is the default>}}

Example

{{Superseded image|File:Information icon4.svg|insert reason/s here}} produces

This file has been superseded by:
File:Information icon4.svg
It is recommended that the other file be used.
Reason: insert reason/s here
Adds image to Category:Image superseded by another image
