Talk:Tag:vending=water
Change of definition
@Cz ja: You changed the wiki description from "A machine vending drinking water" to "A vending machine for filling bottles with clean water for a fee." in revision 2439412. That constitutes a considerate meaning change. Is there a discussion about this change somewhere else? Otherwise, I'd vote to revert the change. (In any case, the description on the page and in the tag details box is not inconsistent.) --Flo Edelmann (talk) 12:39, 22 November 2022 (UTC)
Thanks for starting the discussion. I have found that the definition of a tag is not consistent (Referring stricte to the photo of the water vending machine). The description I have added refers to the photo and to the points that can be viewed by the overpass in Italy, for example.

In the case of complex vending machines as in the above photos and that I have seen in Italy, operating on the same principle as milk machines (https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Tag:vending%3Dmilk). The description as I added seems appropriate.
I have examples of simple vending machines located on private property designed to dispense water, e.g. in a workplace, in an office, in a shop. These simple indoor vending machines cannot be mapped as a node (they certainly shouldn't).

Of course, there could be machines selling bottled water, but then you would rather give the tag vending=bottled_water? Cz ja (talk) 21:20, 22 November 2022 (UTC)
I withdrew my change. The description I added was probably too precise. Cz ja (talk) 22:01, 22 November 2022 (UTC)
