What's the point?
Should one point be mapped for each hammock post? Or should one point be mapped for each individual hammock that can be hung?

- I recently mapped a grove of hammock stands. I put a point in the middle of a set of hangs meant to be used together, adding the following tags. See example 12829032437
12829032437. I figured there should be a way to search for hammocks in general, filter the search for stands alone, and maybe you want to hang with others, so I added the count of possible hangs in the set. I don't have the time to sponsor tag changes, so I will monitor the hammock page for updates incase someone comes up with a better solution. - * leisure=hammock
- * hammock=3
- * hammock:stand=only

- TreeStryder, I like this schema of mapping hammocks, although I find it a little weird to put the count in the key `hammock` rather that saving `hammock` for the particular type of hammock (if permanently present) and using a separate key like `count` or `hammock:count` for the number. Alternatively, you could just map a node for each hammock, and the data consumer or the map user could see the clustering and recognize that it is a grove. I will use your key `hammock:stand` with potential tags `only`, and I guess `yes` and `no` (not sure what those values would represent though, but typically those are the other values when `only` is one).

- Yeah. At the time I could only think of how socket:<type> was mapped, forgetting the parent tag
amenity=charging_stationusescapacity=*. Maybe something similar to howamenity=charging_stationis mapped, with its area and individual elements, would be a good way to map a grove of hammock stands (for those who have the time to do so). If someone figures something out, and updates the hammock page, I will update any stands I've mapped. - --TreeStryder (talk) 22:41, 27 July 2025 (UTC)
