Speed shaming signs

Does this tag also cover "speed shaming" signs that indicate the license plate numbers of speeding vehicles? [1] – Minh Nguyễn 💬 23:03, 29 June 2022 (UTC)

We don't have that over here. Could you perhaps link a picture or a wiki page for that? The kind of sign that we had in mind was the one that the Wikipedia link points to, but we may consider generalizing it (or adding subtags) if they fit in a taxonomy. -Bkil (talk) 10:08, 30 June 2022 (UTC)

About fixed radar signs...

Sign warning of a fixed speed radar (Spain)

Hi! I'm a bit confused. Does this node also serve to indicate signs warning of fixed speed radars, or does it only serve to show the speed of drivers? For example, if I wanted to add the sign on the right, would this tag be valid? Thanks. Valario127 (talk) 08:35, 25 May 2025 (UTC)

I don't know what this sign shows. Do you have a Wikipedia link perhaps? What I guess you really need is the following: highway=speed_camera Bkil (talk) 10:24, 25 May 2025 (UTC)
This sign warns of a fixed radar and it's placed before the fixed radar to warn drivers. My question is whether this tag (highway=speed_display) is valid to indicate these type of signs. Valario127 (talk) 11:00, 26 May 2025 (UTC)
No, it is not a valid use. A speed display displays your speed either via a LED-based digital display or at a minimum by flashing the speed limit. A static sign that contains a fixed message contradicts the definition outlined in the summary here in the article. We just started discussing this for accessibility micromapping: how to tag signage which only warns about other signs ahead at a set distance. Do share if you manage to come up with a tagging for this. I would consider something like traffic_sign=ahead + ahead:highway=speed_camera + distance=100 (just came up with this) Bkil (talk) 12:10, 26 May 2025 (UTC)
Oh, that clarifies my question better. Thank you very much, I'll keep that in mind from now on. Valario127 (talk) 18:26, 26 May 2025 (UTC)
